They are from VA, and no they do not open or close, just swivel.

Hi JJ, Long time no talk!

I was just admiring your truck again and the questions about your battery relocation & photos got me wondering about how you routed your battery cables?

I plan to relaocate mine too and I've wondered where to get long cables? Should I plan to make them myself and if so, what/where do I get the heavy cable and good heavy clamps? How to SAFELY routed/ tie down the cables along the way? ANy advice and photos would be a real help.

Man, I just flat LOVE your truck. The stance is EXACTLY what I'd like to have on mine.

Dan, sorry to step in where it may not be warranted, but in the off roading world, we get our heavy duty battery cables from welding shops. Welding cable 1/0 is great for battery cables, and carries all the current you will ever need. The welding shop can most likely crimp your ends on with a bench top crimper. Just make sure they use weather tight connections and use the heat shrink for the ends that has glue in it. Hope that helps!

I still would like to see photos of how JJ (or others) routed their cables so they have the shortest run possible (does a foot either way much of a difference?) and the least chance possible of shorting and causing a fire?

It looks more like the U4 model, but th UT-N-2H also looks like it would work as well.

It was very easy to install and came with everything needed to put it in.

The rear is from a 69 chevy car and it's a 12 bolt. I've since had it shortened by Moser who also added a 373 gear with a Tru-Trac Posi. It also now has Ford big bearing axle ends and faxles.

I also put a big brake kit on it from Master Power brakes. And ran SS brake lines.

I dont have anymore info on the kit I used. I guess the manufacture must have gone out of business soon after selling it. I've never seen another one like it.

As far as putting your springs under the frame I have seen it done by using the hangers and shackles from the front end used on the rear under the frame mounted in reverse. What I mean is that the rear mount for the front spring is used as the forward mount on the rear spring.

I'm sure there has to be another kit out there that would do the same thing, or maybe adapt a setup from a late model truck, maybe an S-10?

Thanks, it was a big help. I called them and he was installing that kit on a truck. They have a complete kit with springs, shocks, mounts as well. He said they made it to fit wider tires.

Going to the GoodGuys show at Lowes Motor Speedway this weekend, hope to get some ideas and a few items!!

What size are you front wheels and tires?

My rear wheels are 16x10 with 4in back spacing The BFG's are 285/60R16. If I had the 15x10 I would go with a 295/50 for more width. Just for your info my rear end measure's 57 1/4in flange to flange.

Fronts are 15x8 with 4in backspacing, tires are 235/60's!

It's the Universal Gen IV Magnum. Went with the Universal instead of the Surefit model because of my Impala dash!

Went with 3 outlets on the end as I only have 3 vents in the dash.
