Re: How about some pics of bagged C-10's

Thanks for the great responses! here's some info on the truck. It's a bagged 68 short/wide with a 12 bolt rear end, the axles machined and drilled to 5 X4.75" pattern and fitted with disc brakes, it is located by a triangulated 4 bar. The stock front cross member was raised 1", it uses stock upper and lower control arms with S10 drop spindles and a BRT rack and pinion. The frame has a "bridge" in the back, it is fully boxed and uses tubular center cross members and trans mount, the body mounts were lowered 1". The engine is a Gen 5 454 with Edelbrock intake and Holley carb, the trans is a 700R4. The body was stripped to bare metal, cab corners and 1 rocker were replaced, the original floor was modified with a big tunnel to accommodate the raised engine and trans and the 1" body drop, a flat firewall was also installed. The current project is the bed, we raised the front floor section 4" and notched the cross members for drive shaft clearance. the tubs are under construction. i will post more pictures when we have finished them. Here's a link to more pix:http://s598.photobucket.com/albums/t...view=slideshow

Nice work oldnslow How did you make the S10 spindles work? What is your opinion of the Toy hinges? Sturdy enough?

Re: How about some pics of bagged C-10's

The Toyota hinges are 82-??, EBAY is loaded with repops as they were used on 4 Runners. They look pretty flimsy, but the hood doesn't seem to move around any more than it did with stock hinges. I believe that is because the stock hinges have more pivot points that therefore allow more slop.

I'm running 5-1/4" back spacing all the way around with 8.5's in the front and 10's in the back.

I have those wheels on my daily driver. They are pretty sweet especially for the price! Here is a pic of the wheels. There 22's and they look so little. Wish i went 24's. If i am not mistaken 18mm offset equals about 6" of backspacing. Don't quote me though.

You just need the tires to be a little taller and the truck to be a few inches lower. Then they'll look right at home.
