Re: What did you do to your truck today!

I bagged the front of my truck - re-located shocks - got custom longer brake lines made - drug headers across the driveway - looks like shorty headers and new exhaust tucked up in the frame is next.

Always something else after you change anything but you gotta love it

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

After taking my bed bolts out from the Vinegar from soaking some 12 hours.. I then washed them off and dried them and put a coat of primer on them. I only took the galvanizing off the heads so I can paint them the same color as the truck bed .
I put my rear bumper on and wrapped it in a blanket until I get the bed on which may be a few weeks ..

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Sealed up the axle and painted it. Welded on one last bracket for the adjustable panhard bar. Made tool to spread the ubolts slightly for ease of install. Shop bent them slightly narrow. Busy day tomorrow, but maybe by Friday I can finally get the rear end in the '71.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Got the fuel lines ran...got my order in from McMaster Carr...they rock. Their tubing clips are great and cheap. $6.50 for 50 double 3/8" clamps. I was dumb and ordered 1/4" stainless bolts for them when the center hold is 3/16, so I had to drill out the holes.

Brake lines tomorrow.

Tracked down an electrical problem in the tail light circuit & fixed it. No more blown fuses, at least for a while.

I finally installed my hitch. It tucks a little deep under the bumper, but it is solid. Wired and ready to go. Now if only the engine ran...

I bought new door mirrors and weather stripping. Put the mirrors on. Didnt realize I needed adhesive to make the weather stripping stay in place.

if you take off the cowl panel and look down in the cowling air vent area directly over where the heater core is you'll find it (I hope that makes sense)

I also have these spots on both sides in the channel under the hood-to-cowl seal, and directly beside the other one
