Re: Project Lemon Drop: anything but stock!
The cab is painted and will soon mate up with the frame once again. I was hoping the sun would come out for a bright picture, but this was the best nature could do. I will say that in the sun it took some time for my eyes to adjust so I could look at the paint, ITS REALLY BRIGHT. It will be even brighter after a little color sanding and polishing.

Re: Project Lemon Drop: anything but stock!
I noticed that when it was sitting in the sun the bugs seemed to gravitate to the color. Or maybe they were just more noticable on the yellow paint.

Re: Project Lemon Drop: anything but stock!
I've noticed that on my Yellow S-10 as well. Definitely no where near the same shade of yellow, but there must be something the bugs like about it.

Re: Project Lemon Drop: anything but stock!
Wow that looks awsome nice and shiney. That looks like the same yellow that is on my truck but probably no where near the quality. Mine is only a single stage and is starting to fade.

Re: Project Lemon Drop: anything but stock!
Who is going to put the truck back together, you are or Jugernot? Are you going to buff the panels off of the truck or on the truck? Have you tried the dry sanding system from 3M with the Hook it II DA sanding disc? If you haven't it you should look in to it. It is pretty trick and fast. You can sand with 1500 dry and then 3000 with an interface pad. Makes it really nice.

Re: Project Lemon Drop: anything but stock!
Yes I will help a bit with assembly (once he signs a release ) then it will get sanded and buffed after that. I am thinking that teh sand and buff stage won't be for about 6 months or so as he is almost in the middle of moving.
I might do the 3M system but I will try it out on Low Buck first. I got some great first hade teaching of that system at SEMA last year on the OverHaulin set from the guys. Best part is they gave me a list of all the products that they liked the best for sanding and polishing. The 3M perfect system is ok they said but a few things they switch out for older products they like better. So once I try it on mine I might give it a shot on Lemon Drop! Epoxy? Do you want to know what Epoxy sealer/etcher we used on the bare metal or the white sealer I just before paint? I will need to check and see just what part # it is, I have to many to remember them all Kevin LFD Inc. |

Re: Project Lemon Drop: anything but stock!
Well after almost 1yr it is done (well my part is done ). Everything is painted and ready to head home I got a call from the owner that his house may have sold and if so he needs to assemble and more the truck to storage in less than 3weeks So I will give him a hand putting the body together in the next week or two and get some pics all together.

Re: Project Lemon Drop: anything but stock!
Looks great. Other than getting the truck together, I only have to pack up a 2500 sq foot house and move the things to storage near the new house, move things in an existing storage unit to the new storage unit 59 miles away, and lastly prepare for a three week vaction.
All of this has to happen within 25 days, while I still work 40-50 hours a week. I think I wll be a little busy. Thanks again Kevin.

No, she couldn't talk me into that place. I picked the one in the area of the great public schools, close to friends and co workers. But it does have a two car garage and room on both sides of the house park something.

Re: Project Lemon Drop: anything but stock!
I got the motor back from the painter. It looks really nice. I think the silver will be a nice contrast with the yellow. I would have put the rest of it together but I need to pick up some gaskets.
