Good on ya for the great deed you boys did for that young man. It warms my heart to see such great things being done for those that deserve it

Re: Rods 57

Ogre, Dubie, Bam and everyone thanks for the comments. We did what car guys do, we took care of another guys ride. After the bike we took him for a ride in one guys SBC powered 34 coupe. We loved it more than he did. Just got an update on one other thing, we are putting together a show in june to benifit the local veterans, We already have 200 cars committed and an entire strip mall gave us their parking lot, two police drag cars, its going to be huge....

Looks like you guys are doing it big and doing it right. I don't belong to a car club but if I found one like yours that actually do things for the community or some kind of good that would make me join. Good job you guys are doing.

Re: Rods 57

Nice looking brake lines.
That spot on the cab was originally filled with lead.

yes it was, I found a crack and the lead had lifted and it rusted under it. easy fix but crazy how bad the fit is underneath the lead.

Re: Rods 57

Have not got much done lately but i did get a little project on the truck close to done. I borrowed this idea from this forum but made it my own. I had a bunch of old valve covers laying around so i made my glove box door a bit different. I still have to put some filler but the metal work is done, snd this is the first coats of epoxy primer.

I cut the back of the door off so i could make it straight. I knew it would warp when I welded it but took my time and it came out pretty good.

Thanks guys, it was really a copy of an idea i saw, it turned out way nicer than I thought it would the door is really thin and I was sure it would end up in the scrape pile, but I am just dumb enough to try it and it worked out...
