Re: 67-72 Chev Crewcab Build
$15,000 sounds more than fair, actually cheap for all that work!

Man, I absolutely live your truck. The color combo is perfect. So is the rest of the truck. Great work.

Re: 67-72 Chev Crewcab Build
when i told my wife i wanted one there was the requisite "how much?" i told her i had to sell my jeep and then some! she said "$15k? thats a lot" i told her that there was no way in hell i could do that work in 150(or at all) hours considering a $100/hr charge rate so it seemed fair to me. and i guessed you were spending more hours and charging a lesser rate. its easier if i give her nice round numbers to work with!
i used to work in the custom automotive world doing offroad stuff. i know how it goes with people who assume your work should be free. for that striker plate you could save youself some time with a CNC cutout. we have a plasma and a 5 axis waterjet at work. if you are interested i could get a quote for cutting one if you have a drawing. or if its is just a sketch i can draw it in autocad. |

2nd Gen About 90% done with the B Pillar, this thing is built like a brick *^%$* house. Plan on hanging hinges on it tomorrow. Then will be moving to passenger side to do rockers and headers.

Re: 67-72 Chev Crewcab Build
Well guys as you can see I built this truck to use it. Went to the westside of Washington and acquired a fifth wheel that is in incredible shape (looks like it just came off the showroom floor circa 1986). I will be converting it to a toy hauler/swap meet parts carrier. Its main purpose is to slide a crewcab into the back for both delivery as well as display at car shows and swap meets.

Re: 67-72 Chev Crewcab Build
Looks like you might have to put a little beef in the back for the weight, Maybe a dually for the next one.

Re: 67-72 Chev Crewcab Build
Have you thought about offering services to add the 4th door to Suburbans since you have most of the parts worked out?
