Re: Irish's 1966 LWB Fleetside
Quick update:
Bed has been welded and ALOT of work done to make her pretty. OL_SKOOL put some serious effort into her so far. I will post pics soon. Rear-end, has been removed, inspected, cleaned thouroughly, lubed, new seal, new filler plug, primed and painted and re-installed. Halfed the lowering blocks and cut the springs for now. She's sitting just about on the frame. The Edelbrock 1405 has been completely rebuilt and new floats installed. One was bad and the inside of the carb was nasty when pulled apart, which would explain having to feather the gas pedal. The weather has been pretty ****ty here in the NW so progress has been a little slow on the motor and wiring. The good: Carb rebuilt and motor is running pretty strong considering it sat for 4 years. The plans for the weekend are to install the new HEI dist and do a complete tune up on the motor.

Do you need any brake parts for your fleet, i'm not using any stock parts from my 66 and they look fairly new. |

That is the cutest Shop Monkey I've ever seen. You are a blessed man....
And, what color green is that..? I've been looking for a green for my ride and my friend hates green, so that's the color it's go'na be..... I figure that will keep him from asking for a ride....

Re: Irish's 1966 LWB Fleetside
Dang I just got all caught up on this thread!!! You boys have quite a fleet!! And it looks great.
It would be nice if the winter weather would cooperate , But I suppose you are used to it If you run out of Oregon trucks to fix , I know of a few over in Idaho that need homes!!

Re: Irish's 1966 LWB Fleetside
Whoa up there, I have been limited to how many I can have here.. But I see them all over in back yards and pastures and I'm always watching for neat old stuff wasting away that might be passed on to some body who's looking...
My father in law was in law enforcement.. He spent most all his time in the police cruiser scouting back alleys and out of the way places for forgotten street rods which might be for sale with a little asking. Went to lunch today with a buddy who has a 66 chevy 1 ton sitting back out of sight from the world... $500 and it is mine . I dont really need it BUT it has a corvette big journal 327......... It will have to wait a little longer

Re: Irish's 1966 LWB Fleetside
It looks like your moving right along. I hope to get engine block back from the machine shop next week and get the engine together and installed in the frame.
Keep up the good work. Keith |
