Re: Project Orange Crush (57 3100)
Oh boy page 13 where has the time gone fellas!
Anyhow here is some pictures of the hinges more for my "records" then anything (but I do know how much we like pictures here ) else all in all I didn't need to use any heat or a vice to get the original pins out and only had to use 1 new one Header Hinge same difference I live by this New Holland implement grease

Re: Project Orange Crush (57 3100)
Because I am getting so close to having the doors on we are getting close to needing to get glass made for the sides and rear I am going single piece side half because I like a cleaner look and half because its a chop top
The issue I'm having is finding a one stop shop for what to do I know I found one really good writup once and now can't find it. It showed where to grind the stock window mechanism to allow further travel and showed where to drill and move the front channel to however I would prefer to try to sell the vent windows and stock glass as a set for some "cashback" is it possible to just get some 1" C channel and felt to have the glass ride in? Is that what this guy did? http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...&postcount=189 And lastly I can't find a simple one piece window weatherstrip kit all of the ones I find include glass but I plan on just going to my local shop since its so much shorter AGH SO MANY QUESTIONS

Hey VS, nice find on the door hinge pins! Sure beats paying too much money from a vendor for repackaged parts.

Re: Project Orange Crush (57 3100)
Kees at my dealership there's a guy that is old enough to remember that the original ones were nylon "as were mine" however he said sometime around the early 80s they were discontinued
AD I agree I can't stand people trying to make "a quick buck" that way it just feels like I'm getting screwed

Re: Project Orange Crush (57 3100)
Got tons done this weekend all the mounts are set now for good got the firewall painted, one door installed and a ton of other little stuff that needed done
In order to get the motor mounts bolted in I had to remove the lower control arms off... For any of you that have done this on an old car/truck with IFS you know that that is easier said then done all my ball joints are shot and most of my tie rods are sticky but my truck budget is getting thin so for now we will put in some fresh grease and call it good unfortunately also found out that I have a 5 inch chop not a 3&1/4 like I originally thought

Re: Project Orange Crush (57 3100)
Quantity vs. Quality Kim that's all I have to say
Just ordered a set of used tires from a local auto recycler for $125 for a pair with 85% tread left ended up going for a set of Wrangler SRAs size 265/75R15 nearly identical to 31/10.5R15 now we need to finish the rear axle shortening job to get them suckers on

Re: Project Orange Crush (57 3100)
Not a big update but tonight I was able to reinstall the control arms after a "grease flush" they move a lot smoother now aren't perfect but will do the job for now
The coils off my step dads Nova are a lot better looking and stronger then the last set I could tell when compressing them Tomorrow I will wrap up the shocks and get her down on all 4's again My tentative plan for the weekend is to get the rear axle shortened and reassembled as the Fiance is out of town perfect time to do it Thanks all for taking a look - Logan

Re: Project Orange Crush (57 3100)
This truck may be the death of me yet I can barely walk today after doing all of that suspension work...
So we are taking a brake for a few days they are calling for 80+degrees and 70%+ humidity that's to hot to work on much anyways

Re: Project Orange Crush (57 3100)
That's some great progress. I think after a few hard days work on your truck it's good to take a couple days to recover. If you keep going you will burn out. Ask me how I know lol. Looking real good tho.
