Re: 60-66 Tire/Wheel Pics

I have a 1966 c-10 Fleetside I am currently running 15x8 truck rallys with minimum clearance -- fender wells have been barely trimmed --- I am wanting 2 go with the BOSS 338 ---17x8 front & 18x9.5 rear --- truck has been lowered 4" front & 6" rear,, but it is on a 1972 frame --- will these wheels fit with the correct back-space ? if not does anyone have any suggestions/opinions on what will fit ? THANKS IN ADVANCE

Im sure the 17X8 will fit as well as a 18X8 without any problem other than cleaning the snout up on the brake rotor .... very common issue with 1.25'' brake rotors that a 1972 is going to have. Im guessing the 18X9.5 on the rear maybe to much. They do have 5.25'' backspacing and no other options. the 17X8 and 18X8 have 4.5'' backspacing. You could get a 20X8.5 with 4.75'' backspace , might get a little closer to fitting. they do offer a 20X8.5'', 5.25'' backspace wheel as well which Im positive would fit in the rear. I dont have a ton of experience working on the 66 and older trucks tho.

Im sure someone will chime in here.

Dont forget if you have a 1972 frame you should have the wider rear axle if nothing has been chahged there.

18x8 235/60 & 18x9.5 275/55 on American Racing VN805's.
4.8 LS
4wheel disk on 84square suspension swap.

Oh yeah. 5" drop coils in rear, and cut one front coil w/drop spindles front.

I personally like the torque thrusts. Awesome looking pickup either way!

Re: 60-66 Tire/Wheel Pics

Lots of awesome stuff here. I love all the different style approaches. Seems like there's no way to go wrong with the wheel & tire combos. Everything here looks Great!

Here's mine...

I was going for the skinny tire old school look.
Pacer 310W 16" x 6" wheel with Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac 215-85-R16 tires.

I really like this look. Do you know what the backspacing is on the rear 9.5's?

Re: 60-66 Tire/Wheel Pics

Here's mine with 15x7" trim rings on 15x6 & 15x7 rally wheels. These are my snow tire wheels. And for the Hutch question back in September I didn't see until today, the paint on my truck is John Deere Blitz Black enamel:
