Did a lil more work over last few days to the engine cover and its coming along nicely still have to removed the mercruiser emblem in the middle of the cover but all in good time I got the mercruiser logo shaved off and the cover place is in place just waiting for the abs glue to cure and that will be done and ready for a gmc or vortec decal still looking at which will work better there

Found another junkyard with a gold mine truck hehe..... got a set of gmc custom emblems from the truck, then a week later went back and got a factory 65-67 am radio, a few knobs etc radio/speaker support mounting plate, stewart warner amp meter (not sure how to test to see if works)..... Also having to change the gear ratio in my axle to better suit the bbc 8.1 and Allison needing to drop the 3.73 gearing to make it happy from the 4.56. in the past got talked into a Detroit no spin diff when rebuilding my dana 60 not quite satisfied with it so started hunting for a power lock diff assembly lol. Awhile back I picked up a replacement axle since my original dana spindle surfaces are hammered due to a bearing welding it self in place :/ ..... Bought a 69 dana leaf spring axle from an ole boy for 100$...... Started hunting up power locks which are difficult to find..... well last night I spun the brake hubs on the 69 dana 60 thinking hmmm never pulled the cover to check what was in it lol and lo n behold a 3.54 gear set and power lock assembly in the axle lol. talk about a nice find two problems solved in one lol..... so no to find a dana/spicer 3.73 gear set and get it to the rebuild shop for a check out and refreshening....
On another note got curious and hooked up that old gmc am radio to power and a speaker set and by dammed the thing works!!!!

Well idling the time away waiting for the cab to get finished and raptor lined smurf blue did get a few pics of the started body work on the exterior firewall its coming along very nicely cant wait to see it finished. My body guy said due to the delay he has had in getting it done he has offered to paint the rest of the truck for 1000$ plus whatever paint and materials cost!!!
HE also has the floor section raised 1/4 inch to help clear the rear of the Allison transmission still alittle more work to go there since he has to smooth out the underside of the raised area so it looks smooth.

So pumped ready for it to be home so I can start putting him back together for the umpteenth time rotflmao

I also stared getting the front cover panels of the terrain center console covered and ready for install still have to cut out the speaker holes in the vinyl covering but they are turning out nicely. Ended up sticking to using 3m weatherstrip adhesive since it seems to work best out of all the adhesives I have tried. Hit it with a heat gun for a few seconds and ready to bond to the abs and vinyl fabric.

Been working a lot of late to pay for the body work and paint so have not got a lot accomplished on the various projects going around lol. I am working currently on getting rid of the old head light adjuster plastic assemblies and have a new set on order from a corvette restoration supplier at this time. Also waiting on a free set of dana 3.73 gears to come in then I can get the dana 60 over to the shop for rebuilding.

Welp body work and raptor lining went from ahh lets just do that too a full blast and paint job so its gonna be in the body shop for another couple of months while we get everything lined out lol. On another note UPS and fedex are going to know my house by memory in the next couple weeks. MAnaged to put together a complete front clip stainless arp bolt/billet fender washer kit, mar-k chain less tail gate, brake p roportioning valve, and quite a few other things on this check today . got another vehicle in the repair shop so couldn't spend the entire check on smurf :/ but its getting there next payday a huge chunk is going to body shop and the sand blasting place so they can get all the body panels cleaned up for straightening and paint.

Ok guys lol Friday I went on a spending spree due to a nice overtime check at work lol. Tuesday I should have my mar-k tailgate in has stainless hardware!!!! I also took the plunge and ordered an entire body bolt and billet aluminum fender washer setup from allensfasteners.com. I priced out how much it was going to cost from arp for all the bolts I needed and I about fainted :/ then while searching I stumbled across allens shop and he carries all of the arp stainless hardware and regular arp bolts for a very very good price!!!! I also got my engine 67-71 big block motor cushions and the oil fill tube in for the 8.1 throttle body along with the GM factory 9k/12 brake proportioning valve to match my hydroboost unit. I still need to get the frame home Tuesday to see where I can mount the proportioning valve on the frame and get brake lines to reach it. Will be having to change the ends on the 1/4 inch lines to match the prop valve since the factory gm ones use a 1/4 inch brake but rather than traditional 7/16 sizes. This coming up Friday the body cab fenders and everything else is off to a blasting shop to get completely cleaned of all the old maaco and lead original paint off the body so pumped coming along beautifully!!!! Also while hunting some information on the bed tailgate trunions stumbled across a company called tdtrunniondesign.com. he has a nice stainless trunion unit for 58-72 chevy truck with a delrin bushing type assembly so the tailgate trunnions don't rust or squeak definitely have those on my list of parts to order for the new mar-k tailgate setup

well waiting on getting the frame back home and the body and all assorted panels to the blasting shop started researching and sending a whole helluva lotta emails out for my truck. I love how the flush mounted windshields look in the 67-72 and 73-87 truck so been working on finding someone that can help make that a reality for ole smurf should be hearing back from Kottos auto glass around november 14th and see if he and I can make that happen for the windshield and rear cab window of the truck. Also found a spare tire hoist I am looking into making part of the rear frame rails for the truck as well found it at a RV supply company comeplete with frame work n such.

the oops delivery guy stopped by today and dropped a package and dammed ifn the thing aint heavier than the factory tailgate lol ready to be primered and painted it is so Friday if nothing else murphy wise happens will be getting the frame home and the body to the blasting shop :/ got bertha the suburban home today and that hit my pocket book kinda hard so have to wait for Friday to see what I have to play with funds wise. Also picked up a couple of ididit chrome knobs this morning and going to be doing a lil creative drilling on them to get them to match my wiper switch and led gauge light switches. will see how it turns out and go from there.

well got one of the knobs finished the other kinda flubbed due to the design of the dimmer knob for the speedhut gauges. Going to do a lil looking around and see if I can find a different dimmer switch to use with it. The wiper knob turned out pretty good not bad for stepping a few drill bits then shaving the back a couple of mm to get the right washer button function

Well got the speedhut gauge dimmer switch order with the correct type of shaft for the ididit knob setups just waiting on them to come in so I can do a lil testing and see if they will be appropriate for what I am using them for. Tonight I picked up a new set of shoes for ole smurf from a friend of mine in Olympia Washington. They just need a good long bath in paint stripper to get rid of the clear coat then a lil polishing and matching GMC hubcaps and they will be set n ready.

Got the frame home Friday and have started stripping a few things off it for a redo on them namely the rear light and fuel sending unit wires and the brakes lines. I have the proportioning valve to install on the drivers side frame rail and I am going to re rout the rear brake lines to match that of the newer 08 rear disc brakes that are in place. After that drop the axle and get the replacement dana to the axle shop for a rebuild with 3.73 gearing to work better with the BB engine lol.
