Re: lets see your trick mods and custom touches!!
Very cool. I'm building my 70 K10 to be a DD work truck. One of the few things I hate about older rigs, is the slide controls for the heater. I pulled the rear heat controller and servo motors out of my 93 suburban, and adapted it.
I designed a new face, and cut it out on the waterjet. Found some simple black knobs from Stillen, and filled the cutouts and holes in the face with translucent acrylic so the light will shine through it. The button on the left is for my glowplugs. The turbo on my diesel sits right where the stock heater core housing is, so I adapted a 73-87 non-AC heater unit. The internal unit worked well too with just a few mods. |

I still have the waterjet file for the faceplate if you want one.

Re: lets see your trick mods and custom touches!!
If you could figure out a control panel that would fit the space, I can make a faceplate.

Re: lets see your trick mods and custom touches!!
This one really isn't trick or fabbed but very practical. I bought the Blazer/Jimmy under dash wiring harnes from Roger Koop. It fit right into my dome light harness and I used LED's for brightness. Lights up the inside of the truck very nicely, especially with the LED bulb in the dome lamp as well.

Re: lets see your trick mods and custom touches!!
Here’s mine, I ordered a reproduction 72 grill surround for my 70. Had it powder coated gloss black. Ordered a black billet grill. Then put true LED halo's in it. I think it looks mean as hell! I almost forgot, I mounted LED turn signals to the core support. This way they’re visible through the grill.

Re: lets see your trick mods and custom touches!!
I put a Home link garage door opener in all my classic vehicles.
I had one in the 71 C 10 in the ash tray and now I have them in the 67 Ramp truck, 64 SS Impala and the 56 Bel Air. The one in the Ramp truck I mounted it into the sun visor. I also installed late model mirrors with temp & compass in my 71 & Ramp truck. I also made my Ramp truck horn button out of some Hobby Lobby metal emblems.
