Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

This ones got a slick on it but I want to get a wider one. I got it(the frame) back from the powdercoater the other day and put it together. Turned out good. Thx.

Its going to be the stock light blue. I like it. And with a lot of people changing to custom colors you just don't see many with the stock color anymore.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

i agree i dont ever see any black factory styled 67s that is why my 67 is going stock and black your truck would look cool if you put the 67 m68 gmc trim on it has a red line instead of black

I hear you man! There are a lot of beautiful paintjobs on this site.
But I'm leaning toward the powder blue and white myself.
I found a light kandyblue from HOK. Hoping to get a deeper shine,
While maintaining that old school look.

Here is the paintjob I'm looking at doing my 68 step.
Mine will be higher, With Corvette ralleys and baby moons.

That"s what color I am going with on my Crew Cab. White/blue/white/blue.

If you are ever in Memphis I'd love for you to come by and see it.

I also cleaned and painted the fan clutch. I have to clean up the firewall up before I can do anything to it.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

Yeah Rick just a little. I picked up a new harmonic balancer for the motor. The guy that rebuilt my motor said he would come by and put it on for me. The one that came off of it was not the right one. He thought it was for a 327 or something. And whoever put it on beat it on. He said there a tool for that not a hammer.lol I'm going to paint it.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

I taped up the shaft and the other end so I didn't get paint on either side. Heres the part # if anyone needs it. Its for a 72 350.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

The orange is a Chevy color for motors and I'm not sure about GMC's so orange it is. I tried looking for an original 68 GMC with stock motor and couldn't find any. I like the orange color anyway.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

I got a new water pump and painted it. Put it on. The harmonic balancer needs put on also.I put the fan and carb on temporarily. The fan will come off when I put the balancer on and the carb needs cleaned. I would like to do it outside but its too cold right now. The air cleaner needs sanded and paint too. I switched around the valve covers that the rebuilder put on opposite. And put the oil fill tube on. Got the alt brackets on. Need to decide which alt to run.
