Lot of progress Adam. Nice work on everything, and the color, well I've always been a fan of blue.

Well after spending some time with the fiance in North Dakota. I got back to the grindstone and got the firewall ready for epoxy primer tomorrow.

Re: Project: Turbo 250
Adam you have inspired me. My 69 has the 250 and i had big plans of keeping it because of the rarity and cool factor. The more i researched it, though, i started to get discouraged, and a friend of mine has a 500+ hp 383 he took out of a drag car he would sell me for a song. After reading your build I am glad I didn't make any rash decisions. The 250 in my truck purrs like a kitten, but I want it to be able to roar like a lion, too!! Thanks for all the info and pics, I see now that it CAN be done!!

Re: Project: Turbo 250
Thanks guys! I am still out here in Sturgis, SD for the bike rally and visiting friends.
On a side note to cubber... yes it can be done, but for $$$ if you can pick up a 383 that is making that power and you know is reliable.... I would seriously do it if your on any kind of budget. I spent my budget for the entire truck on the engine alone to do it right.

Re: Project: Turbo 250
Hey Adam, I have considered the options- I think I could get into the 383 for about 3-3500, but then i would have 500-1000 more in ignition and pulleys and brackets since it is coming out of a drag car. have you thought about how a centrifugal supercharger off of maybe like a 4.6l mustang might work? BTW, I don't really have a budget, but i would like to do most of my own work, and don't want to get too crazy. The truck itself needs very little to be at a hundred percent body and interior and such. I appreciate a truck that looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor, but i also like rat rods. I guess i want my truck to be somewhere in between.

Re: Project: Turbo 250
The supercharger will work, just make sure you get the correct rotational direction and your going to have fun getting a serpentine setup done on the engine, it can be done but it is quite a bit of work to get the pulleys to line up, I could hook you up with a guy who just did a serpentine setup on one if your interested.

Re: Project: Turbo 250
I seen an air force blue one outside of sturgis in Deadwood SD this weekend and it is very different than that color, it is so hard to show true color in pictures.

Re: Project: Turbo 250
Well I have been told the check was cut and is in the mail! Only took them 4 months!
On a less dramatic note I did get the interior and half of the exterior of the cab stripped down to bare metal in prep for the body work and epoxy primer. Pics to come tomorrow when there is more light.

Re: Project: Turbo 250
Well got all of the large areas of metal cleaned off, still have a few nooks and crannies to clean up, the rain that we have been getting here isnt helping me any on this project but the crops sure do need it.
