Re: Mesquite 1966 C10 - LS3 W/Air Ride

Got the power steering hose fixed, that was me the the swivel joint was loose. Pluged the tach into the right spot on the bulkhead and wala it works.

Ran it long enough to get the fan to come on. I'm out of argon gas so can't fix the radiator just yet. It's a very small pin hole.

Lots of little details to make it happen, always good when it works.

Re: Mesquite 1966 C10 - LS3 W/Air Ride

I agree lot of details... stupid things like a brand new fuel line kit to carb..and the fiber rings they send leak. I feel for the most part that quality is long gone as well for the most part any understanding of what we go through to build these trucks or cars and have to deal with poorly made parts or kits.. Money spent and you get the.. well send it back yada yada yada

Put the bed on for a test fit. Looks like I will have to raise the the bed floor didn't see that coming. Had to trim the inner panel at the wheel. Pictures are on the bump stop.

The drivers side door did not look like when I bought it. The previous owner did this while loading it.

Striped down the cab tonight. The fuel tank brackets were a PITB, did not see that coming. Whoever decided to spot weld them to the thin metal on the back of the cab needs his butt whooped.

Re: Mesquite 1966 C10 - LS3 W/Air Ride

Got the cab back on. The low hump hits the transmission right at the shifter location. If I'm right my low hump is not removable.

So I'm guessing my only option is to cut and make a custom cover? Any other ideas are welcomed, everything else seems good.

Look close, the tunnel covers are bolted on.

Not all of them are bolted in. Some of them are stamped as one piece with the floor.

Before you do any cutting get a high hump and you should be able to cut out the stamped section and bolt in the high hump.

Re: Mesquite 1966 C10 - LS3 W/Air Ride

Will do, I am now in search of the following:

High Hump Trans Cover
Clutch Pedal, mounting hardware and spring

Does anyone have a under dash picture of an installed clutch pedal?

Thanks,

I have, or can get a photo of that clutch pedal for you. I installed one on mine.

I will check your post later when I get home to see if someone has not already beat me to it for you...

Re: Mesquite 1966 C10 - LS3 W/Air Ride

There are 4 clutch pedal setups that I have found on 60-66 GMC/Chevy trucks.
1-GMC V-6 set up mechanical
2-GMC V6 hydraulic
3-Chevy mechanical
4-Chevy hydraulic
For mechanical set ups 1 pulls the bell crank (Z-bar) and one pushes and I don't remember which is which.
I have both mechanical setups and can photograph them if you need. I also have extra setups laying around loose if you need photos of that. Just let me know.. and thinking about it I have a cab that I can probably take better photos of since it has no gauges etc..

This truck came with at V8 283 3 speed on the column. I'm the one that removed it but that was 20+ years ago so I can't remember how it mounted.

I just need the underdash components not the linkage, I will be using a hydraulic clutch with this truck.
