X3! Hey Rob, are you gonna keep the rear drum brakes or convert to rear disk brakes?

I haven't decided yet. I probably will eventually.

Only choice are 12 or 15. I would have to narrow the rearend to make the 15's work correctly....

Re: 68 S/C update.....

You know if you just get the 15s and narrow it you won't have to go through the hassle of buying the same wheels twice in different sizes... You should go for it! Heck while you're at it with the whole narrowing the rear end and getting new wheels just splurge some more and get rear disc brakes.

P.S. You should come to the board meet at the beginning of May. I'll be making the drive up, and there will be plenty of other people there.

Re: 68 S/C update.....

I'm almost done with the radiator fan install. Just waiting on a few pieces to dry. Is there any reason why I can't stick the sender to turn the fans on in the outlet that the heater hose goes to? It's plugged off and not being used for anything. I also had a new driveshaft built with beefier u-joints and a new yoke. Hopefully it will hold up when I hammer the throttle, .

Looking good rob! Are you going to sell your other driveshaft or hang on to it? I have to find one yet.

Re: 68 S/C update.....

Isn't that the "cool" side of the radiator? I think that you would want it on the "hot" side. I might be backwards though...

Re: 68 S/C update.....

yea you want it on the hot side, where it comes from the intake to the radiator. by the time the hot water hits the switch to trip it, the engine will be at a hotter temp. depending at what temp trips it, it might be a little too hot for the engine. you dont want to run too hot of an engine

58-58.5" off the top of my head. with the nv3500 it is a weird length.

I'll probably have to figure out another place to put it.

Re: 68 S/C update.....

I guess if you set the fans to kick on at a lower temp (160?) then the engine might run 190ish... that's a swag though...

I just wired it to come on with the key for right now. I'll eventually put a temp switch in the head. I've still got to figure my wheel situation out....
