Re: 1970 One Owner Short Step
So I am having issues keeping a battery in this truck from dying on me. I am currently running an interstate battery and occasionally put it on a battery tender when I don't drive it for a while. I am not sure if this is what is killing the battery or not. It charges up just fine on the trickle charger and cranks the truck but I will run the truck for a short time 5/10 minutes and then will have issues cranking after I shut it off. Once it is cranked it runs just fine. I don't seem to have an alternator issue, more of a dead cell in the battery issue. I'm hoping someone here is a battery expert and can enlighten me on what the issue is. I'm running a red top optima in my other truck and am considering switching to one for this truck as well. I've had two batteries go down on me-each lasting about two years or so each. Not a horrible problem but if there is a decent solution out there I would like to know it!
