Re: Project 68 k10 LWB..aka "The Hulk"
Hey guys so I assembled my E brake cables. I ordered the front E brake cable from Inline tube(factory K20). I had to adjust the stock frame rail e brake mount. After I mocked up the front E brake cable I measure and ordered custom brake cables from www.controlcables.com Ed miller was the guy I talked to, he was very helpful. We email back and forth with pictures until we came up with a plan. Since I have 75-81 Cadillac rear discs custom was the best way. I did not want to have the long looped intermediate cable with the little curved metal frame supports, so I decided to run the passenger rear to the driver side. I got the rear frame brace (and the idea) from the 91 burb frame I bought. All I had to do was make the cable crossbar that connects the 2 rear brake cables to the short intermediate cable 3/8""x 1" x 3". the pictures are of it mocked up and loose.
The tape was a measurement for the intermediate cable. I posted it so you could see the factory E brake frame mount. I ordered and paid for them on Monday about noon and they were at my house yesterday when I got off work, oh and 107$ with tax and shipping. Looks to be great quality, or course we will find out when I stand on the peddle....

Hey guys I need some help.... The attached picture is a profile picture of the trans and transfer case height in relation to the frame rails. Does it look high? Can some one check there compared to mine if they are at the same stage???

Re: Project 68 k10 LWB..aka "The Hulk"
Well I found my mounts but can't find the bolts and square washers. Do you know the sizes for the radiator core support bolts? 3"x3/8" carriage bolts?

Re: Project 68 k10 LWB..aka "The Hulk"
Thanks guys I will get the bolts and put them in the box where my bushings are in and hope I don't misplace them like dwilbur
I went ahead and made a 1" shim to drop the TC here is a picture of the profile after the shim. I feel a little more comfortable with the room on the tunnel and the angles on the drivelines.

Re: Project 68 k10 LWB..aka "The Hulk"
When ahead and started wire wheeling the rusty spots on the doors. Wow they are in pretty good shape. No rust repair other than sanding and sealing. I will need to weld up where the window frame and door meet.
Does anyone know what else I need to weld up or brace up on these doors? Attached is a picture of the door hinge area. I guess I didn't take a picture of the bottom of the door but it looks the same. Also does anyone know what this little 1/4" hole is for? The one in the center of the picture above the door hinge in the door jamb?

I'm not positive but the hole might be for attaching some of the inner door parts.

The center of the tail shaft should be about the same location in the frame (height anyways) thanks for checking for me...

Re: Project 68 k10 LWB..aka "The Hulk"
Thanks for the post.
I have been coaching football and my sons have been shooting Trap as it is state shoot time of the year. This month my youngest plays for the USA Football Under 16 team in Los Angeles and then both my sons and I fly to Olympia, Washington and then Sparta Illinois to shoot trap, all this in July. Sorry ,but unfortunately not much is happening on the truck except for ordering parts.

Re: Project 68 k10 LWB..aka "The Hulk"
Update if I can say that.
While I am down in the LA area I decided to go shopping at The Truck Shop in Orange Ca. Spent a bunch of money. New hood and latch, door handles, lock and key set, headlight stuff, etc etc. When I get home I should have all the stuff to do the exhaust except the TIG welder I ordered. Should have a free weekend next weekend so hopefully I can get some stuff done.

Hello everyone, got a little mock up of the exhaust while I am waiting on the New TIG welder to show up. I think I am going to flip the muffler so the inlet is next to the frame rail anyways hope you all good and out in the shop/garage working on your projects!!!

Hey guys, I have been going crazy. When I get a minute or two I have been doing little things. I decided to powder coat the rear leaf sprints and a bunch of brackets and the inner fender wells.
Sorry Not a good picture. Here are some of the leafs still wrapped up..
