Re: Scott's hotrods shop truck

so I see the front half ofthe roof widened by an inch or so to fit the posts. that makes sense.
how were you able to get away with not widening the back half?

The front part of the roof section was split as you can see we made a 1/2
piece to make up the difference. The rear part of the roof lined up real good.
We had to widened the rear hatch on the back to fit the opening after we chopped down. You can see in the pictures we took 1 1/2 out of the top part
of rear hatch. Then took a 1 inch out of the middle of the window. This was done for two reasons.
1.Makes the top of the hatch look better against the chopped top.
2.Does not make the rear window to small.
By doing this there was alot more work involved but does look alot better
rather than taking all out of the rear window.

Re: Scott's hotrods shop truck

ok neat to know that about the roof.
I noticed that you did not take the rear window down as much, really makes a difference in the correct look.
imo I think that is a mistake most do when chopping a truck, which is taking the full amount of the chop out of the rear window.. usually gets them a mail slot look to the window.

Here's a few pics Justin took from yesterday...

You can see that the pillar work on the side windows, as well as some of the interior sheetmetal work.

Yea I may know that but I'm sure that others here would like to see some of the other stuff you guys play with.....I for one may have to look into that 41 Ford four door....my buddy has it and the price is right but it needs a roof chop or rake (compound curved rear glass) ...and then I have to make it go down the road so a front end and some sort of rear suspention are going to be in order...I'm thinking Bags with a tri Four in back (maybe camaro) to get rid of the buggie spring and rear steer rack for the front???
