Re: How many 2 wheel drive blazers do we have?
Is that the blue blazer with white top that was a cover truck for the Nov 2004 issue of classic trucks? If it is that is the truck that started the search for my 2wd blazer.

I'm with you on it though. I carry pics of his truck with me everywhere and use them as inspiration.

Yup. I think that article drove a lot of us to want a 2wd.

Does the emblem on the flamed one say "K5" or something else? Kinda funny if it still says K5.

Re: How many 2 wheel drive blazers do we have?
ALL 1st gen Blazers were K5's, regardless of whether they were 2wd or 4wd.

Its not that I don't want it. I just don't have garage space for another one.

Re: How many 2 wheel drive blazers do we have?
After researching this a little further, I guess I should say all 1st gen Blazers were BADGED K/5's. Technically they were CE105XX/CS105XX or KE105XX/KS105XX according to the model numbers on the SPID. So I guess you were half-right.

Re: How many 2 wheel drive blazers do we have?
All first gen blazers are considered K5's. There were no C5's. The Vin is the only place the "C" designation appears.

Re: How many 2 wheel drive blazers do we have?
When I get some extras funds (if ever) I wanted to get some more pinstriping on my blazer and have the "C5 Blazer" painted to look like the K5 badging.

I am looking at getting one when I come back from overseas in a few years. Do the 2wd's have leaf or coil rear susp?

Mine has coils. I'm pretty sure all the 2wd's do.

Re: How many 2 wheel drive blazers do we have?
factory 2wd's have trailing arms and coil springs. There are quite a few conversions out there, which could be a good way to go if you want to save money and plan to do custom suspension anyway. When the funds are available, that's probably the route I'll go.

Re: How many 2 wheel drive blazers do we have?
To this day I'm amazed that GQ will not sell. I don't know what it is, but to me that would be the perfect starting point. Since its not in paint, you can even pick your color...go figure, I can't

Re: How many 2 wheel drive blazers do we have?
Hey I just joined the site a few days back, I bought my 2wd about 5yrs back. Had been hunting for it for about 5 years and before I found it I bought a 4x4 to convert to a 2wd. The 2wd is a 71 GMC it has factory air. It is in storage, because I am building my 4x4 into a super short bed truck. Some day I will get pictures on here of the 2wd. I am using the GMC front clip to put on my 4x4 super short bed. I am putting a 72 chevy front clip on the 2wd. This may sound crazy but I like the 67, 68, 71, 72 chevy front clips the best for 2wd and GMC front clip best for 4x4. Should I not be seperating the original one out? Any opinions?

Re: How many 2 wheel drive blazers do we have?
I think their are a few others with the same opinions about the Chevy vs. GMC grills. The 4 headlights tend to look a little "tougher" where as the chevy fronts look more sleek.
Post pics please.

Re: How many 2 wheel drive blazers do we have?
Personally I like the '67-'68 grills on everything but I've seen some low GMCs & some 4x4 '67-'68 & '71-'72 trucks that I really like also.
Basically, do you own the truck?? Then do it how you like it. I have a '71 Blazer and bought a '68 swb for the front cap. A friend is gonna take my '71 front and put it on the '68 and build a ground scraping stepside for his shop truck. To each his own, IMHO Here's a few I like that are backwards from your preference. This is probably my favorite GMC of all time. And this is probably my fav 4x4 but this one is pretty cool too
