Re: 1969 Chevy CST/10 comes home [Long-term project "OrangeCrush"]
The truck is looking good! I blew out my U joint Friday towing a load because I didnt adjust it when we went to 4" drop springs in the rear...I had convinced myslef that I was going to put all my stock springs back in. Just saw the pics of yours and remembered how great the look dropped! I guess it's alwasy good to have options-

Re: 1969 Chevy CST/10 comes home [Long-term project "OrangeCrush"]
That's a really cool picture!!!
I know you're looking forward to getting some of the rust fixed but be happy you're getting to drive it now. I've had my truck for a year and a half and put about 10 miles on it total....and it's not going anywhere any time soon with the frame, motor, tranny, cab, front clip, and bed all separated

Re: 1969 Chevy CST/10 comes home [Long-term project "OrangeCrush"]
I use it for pizza delivery. I've already put thousands of miles since February. This is just another delivery run, just with a lot bigger pizza :-P
The mechanical are 95% done. Only last bit is to get new drop springs and front shocks (not immediate, but my 3" springs sit too low, and wear 3" drop shocks fast), and throw in a disk brake MC. It already stops like a mofo, but the disk brake will do so even more. Again, delivery driving, trust me, disks perform AWESOME no matter what. But the rust around the windshield is unfixable (for me) and would cost more than this trip to fix. Looking at a 500 mile round trip tomorrow.. |

Yeah, I knew about the pizza delivery...I saw your pictures of the flooding...
Best wishes on the trip to get the cab.

That cab looks pretty nice. I bet it wasn't easy loading it up back there. And I'm surprised it fit.

Re: 1969 Chevy CST/10 comes home [Long-term project "OrangeCrush"]
Actually, with 4 ppl it's pretty easy. Lift, put on to tail gate, get two in bed to lift up, and lift over wheel wells. Don't even really need tie downs for a short trip

It's so easy. Only trouble I had was the crappy paint peeling off from the heat at the edges.. But other than that, cake. I'll get some better pics today

It's this crazy stuff called grass. Apparently a dirt yard does not go over well with the home owners association

I think they were talking about the round stain under the truck...not the green reflection in the bumper...
