Hmmm... how are you pulling this one off? Aren't you using plate adapter mounts? Don't they get in the way?

i had to trim a piece off the compressor mounting bracket, so the head of the bolt wont interfer....i have yet to install or even have a 00 truck compressor, but i looked at one at oreillys and did some measureing... so we'll see how it all works out here real soon...

worked on installing the vintage air evaporator unit under the dash today.... thought all i would have to do is fab some mounting tabs and hang it, but for some reason they thought it would be a good idea to prewire everything with about 10 feet to much wire.... its good to have to much wire then not enough, but dang!!..... so after i got it hung i went to work re-wiring the pre-wired harness...as you can see i mounted the relays and circuit braker in a nice and convenient spot, and cut about 9' of wire off and made it more neater....it also doesnt hang down to low to interfer with anything or get in the way of the passenger feet, and it has a factory look to it..

It's a vintage air generation IV. it's supposed to be there most current and efficient unit to date and is rated well enough to cool a suburban...so you you should definit. check it out! 68 short step doesn't fool around!!! I'm sure killer is beginning to get in the way tho.

get the interior back together... installed a flameing river chrome /tilt/ auto steering column, looks great, the gear indicator will be switched for a OD one...still working on the wiring .... and mocked up all the hoses for the heater core and a/c, on the inside....

ok here ya go gringo the a/c compressor fit, the only clearances i had to do, beside the bracket itself, way the frame so the adaptor fitting will clear.. ill post pics of that when its installed so you can see what im talking about..

So is that a new series of the surefit systems? I haven't seen one that looks like that. Keep up the good work!

No SEE TEN it's not a sure fit. You can check it out on the home page of va. It's a fly by wire set up...wanted to get away from all the cables and vaccum actuators and so forth...

Just a suggestion, but I would wrap the interior hoses with some foam insulation like that used on pipes. It will help keep the heat out of the cab from the heater hose and keep the cold in for the a/c lines.

laughing at myself for I never having clicked on this thread because I thought it was just a 5.3 install...

Then I finally said "this must be one sweet 5.3 install to be such a long thread." So I dive in to find some of the cleanest work on the board! Wow

This build is way beyond what I've done as far as finishing work is concerned. You guys are at the level I'm (and I think most guys are) working towards in that regard. ...and you're doing it all with the quality these trucks deserve. If I could just stop coming up with ideas I might get there

will do, the kit come with some wrap just for that reason... not foam, but more like sticky 2.5" wide tape wrap.. but is for the same reason..
