Did you get the red or blue light?

I am packaging mine up this weekend the speedometer is bad... Contacted DD and they knew what was wrong, not sure if it is a known issue. Anyway, I really like mine, just wish I did not have to send it back.

Great job on the build..

Nice!!!!! You're going to really like the DD setup, . What are you doing with the old bezel? I need a "slightly" worn one for my son's truck.

Thanks, I got the one with blue lights. DD delayed shipping mine about a week. The story I was told is they were waiting on parts from a distributor. I wonder if anyone else has installed theirs yet. Perhaps they can chime in and let us know if they have had any issues?

Rob you are welcome to it.. Just pay shipping and it's yours. It's driver quality but nothing to brag about... Let me know.

Not trying to hijack, but I have two these setup that I have purchased in the last 3 months but have not hooked up yet. I do I know if the speedo is bad? Does it have to be hooked up or do they have a quality control number on them that can be referenced? TIA.

Re: Project "Jezebel"

No hijack at all. Id like to know as well. These things are expensive, I'd like to know sooner rather than later if I have a problem.

I hope I did not mislead anyone. I was not attempting to say there is a global problem. I was only stated that mine had an issue, and when I talked to their support group they seemed to know exactly how to trouble shoot the problem and was very quick to say I needed to send it in. I guess you could take that two ways, one is that they had seen the problem before, or two that they are very efficient at trouble shooting the issues..

I have been nothing but happy with the gauges up to this point. And I am sure they will get me fixed up in no time..

To test for the issue they had me put it in demo mode. In that mode all of the gauges sweep back and forth.. on my unit the speedometer made a funny noise for a second or two and then just went to zero.. and did not move after that..

Hope this clears things up for you...

Have a great day.

I totally know where you are coming from Juan. You want to get it done quickly so you can enjoy it and that sometimes causes you to take shortcuts on perfection. I really had a hard time with that when I restored my 69 Camaro a few years ago. It caused me to have to do some tasks over a couple times not to mention the lost $$. While I cant say I have this mastered, I try to remind myself that while having a goal to complete the project I have been working on it 3 years now. If I need to take a little more time not to take a shortcut, it's worth it in the long run. But like I mentioned before in the thread, I have what I consider a serious case of OCD when it comes to stuff like this. I bet others could have done much better work in much less time than I have. I just keep telling myself to be realistic and one day it will be done.

Thanks Bomp. I'm in the block sanding stage so things are not all that interesting right now so there are not many updates. Hope to be in paint in the next month.

Re: Project "Jezebel"

A couple updates

As I have been working on block sanding I have a few things to clean up prior to finalizing the bodywork.

A/C Lines

I am going to hide my A/C lines and run them through the passenger kick panel. To access the line and make everything water tight I needed to open the cowl and recess the bulkhead connector.

Re: Project "Jezebel"

Cable Throttle Pedal Conversion

I purchased the conversion plate from LFD. There were 4 hole that needed to be filled and three of them were threaded. To protect the threads from welding I decided to remove the plate with the threads by cutting the spot welds and then cut out the 8 holes (4 original and 4 new holes from cutting the spot welds) and replace it with a single patch.

Fully welded and ground down. The welds you see here are from when I welded the threaded plate back in that holds the pedal assembly.

Super work as always Steve! dig the smooth firewall! Good thing your radio hole was already cut. I might give you crap about that. Nah, just kidding. I love modern stuff in an old truck. I want mine to be driver friendly. Keep up the good work.

Hey Rob,
Nothing a cutoff wheel, welder, and some paint cant fix. But as nice as Superburb is I wouldn't change a thing. I hope to make CTC this year. Are you gonna have the burb done by then?

Thanks Mike. BTW the last thing I would want to do is get you guys upset with me lol. Check post #4 of my build and you can see verification....

FYI the dash in my burb is uncut and will absolutely stay that way!

Your fire wall looks real smootheeeee and the dash is what you make it. Someone cut mine up and I replaced the whole dash. It looked like they used a chain saw. Didn't have a choice.
