checking the barret jackson site...it's still a few vehicles away....but everything's been selling for 100K plus recently so it's a good sign for him that there's money in the room...

Re: second chance 67 chevy, project from hell
Thats a nice chunk of change but no where near what the truck is worth imo.. For that money I think I would have sat on it for awhile but if I understand correct that i was a no reserve auction..

Re: second chance 67 chevy, project from hell
Barret Jackson is a rip off to builders! you never see a car or truck go for the amount of hours and craftsmanship that goes in the vehicles, i am sadden by the fact that we all poor our blood sweat an tears into a project and for some one to come along and tell you its worth that has never even stepped foot in a garage!Unless your name is Foose you will never get back what you have in it at Barret Jackson! Sorry for your loss!

It's rare that anyone gets back what they have in any car. These trucks are ALL BAD INVESTMENTS but they look killer when done as nice as this one from Superfly. Good luck with your wife's build!

Re: second chance 67 chevy, project from hell
Your right about not getting back dollar for dollar on investment. Not sure they are a bad investment though. If you buy a new truck they depreciate pretty quick too. It really depends on how far you go with one of these builds. this one was way over the top

Re: second chance 67 chevy, project from hell
I'd agree that a high dollar build like this isn't something to look at as an investment. But he got great recognition for his creativity and craftsmanship. However, they can be an investment. I have made several thousand buying/selling parts and should be able to at least double the money I have in my blazer when I sell it.

We all know there's no way you could get this truck for this price any where other than like this. I mean think if Superfly would have posted a classified on here for $42k. He wouldn't be done clicked submit before one of us was at his door with a cashiers check.

The reason why people build a car or truck is because it's what they want to do. It's something they want to have and to show others. If they sell it, they KNOW it will likely be at a loss.

Re: second chance 67 chevy, project from hell
Hay you win some and you loss some. I feel I was ****ed by Barrett Jackson. I was supposed to be on speed and prime time. That is what I paid 1200 dollars for but they ran behind. I have emails from John Cook stating this but oh well. I should have walked then. But my wife and I are over it. It was a blood bath there and many people got screwed. I did well compared to most. Well thanks for all your guys support. Check out my other build. I am going to get it finished fast so I have another car done
