Re: Streetrod Farm Truck build..."the Diesel"
I got some more done to the little diesel tonight...kinda picked at it some...took the rear springs loose and got them below the axle...took the upper control arms loose...tomorrow morning I'm gonna get up and paint everything new I have to go up under the truck and then I'm gonna get me some breakfast and hopefully by the time I get back the paint will be dry and I can start putting it together...
I can't wait to get it back on the ground and looking good... |

Re: Streetrod Farm Truck build..."the Diesel"
Got the flip kit installed and almost got all the front suspension back together...just need to get the steering put back together and the front will be done too...I started polishing one of the front wheels tonight...there's alot of brake dust on them...they're coming clean and shiny but it's alot of work...hopefully tomorrow I'll get the suspension all buttoned up and get the wheels polished up some...then I can roll it out in the daylight and take some pics of it

Re: Streetrod Farm Truck build..."the Diesel"
Ok ok here's some crappy iPhone pics...it's sitting on the bumpstops in the rear. I still need to take them out. I also think the front might need to come down another half inch or so. I'm gonna wait to see if it settles any. I also still need to finish the tranny swap before I'm riding down the road again. When I finish the tranny swap I'll get the rear bumpstops out.

I'm gonna put a boltless sport bumper in the rear and a boltless front bumper on it. I was gonna take the step bumper off for now I think

Re: Streetrod Farm Truck build..."the Diesel"
Thanks alot. It took alot of hard work to get it there. While I had it apart for the spindles I replaced the upper and lower balljoints, upper and lower control arm bushings, inner and outer tie rods, pitman arm, idler arm, front brake pads and turned the front rotors. I replaced everything to do with the steering, suspension, and brakes lol. It's totally rebuilt. Now I just need to get the tranny swap finished and an alignment and I'll be able to drive her some again. I can't wait.

Re: Streetrod Farm Truck build..."the Diesel"
Yeah I definitely need to give her a bath. It's been a good while since she's had soap on her lol. And I need to find me a decent tailgate band to put on her. I already have a bunch of sets of cab trim to pick from. I also need to out my emblems on the truck. There's still the details to do now.
Btw thanks fellas for the compliments. It means alot Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Streetrod Farm Truck build..."the Diesel"
This past weekend when I was lowering the truck I noticed the rear leaf pack didn't have 5 leafs in it like I've heard it should from other people. I just figured that's how it was. So I didn't think anymore about it. Well last night I ran into a little snag. The truck was sitting on the bumpstops in the rear. I removed the rubber out of the bump stops just to see where the truck would sit. When I removed the rubber, the rear end lowered down another 2". So now it's too low in the back. I have another set of leaf springs from my dads truck that I parted out last year. I went and looked at them and it had five leafs. So sometime this week hopefully I'll be able to get over there and get the rear leaf springs swapped out. Hopefully the new springs in the rear will raise it up enough and give it the rake I'm looking for so I don't have to lower the front anymore
