those are I6 towers, try using v-8 toweres in the forward position for brakeline clearance.

Re: My 64 C-10 fleetside shortbed build
Thanks hotrod c10. I did think about moving the motor foward but im using the stock 3 speed trans with the origional clutch setup, steering column and driveshaft. I dont want to create a bunch of issues to have to modify. Thanks
Flips, The new master cylinder did come in but it showed up at the store all the way across town and I havent made it over there to pick it up yet. Thanks likaroc13, I did try cleaning it some but the rust has pitted the chrome pretty bad. I may sandblast it and paint it the interior color until I get a new one.

Re: My 64 C-10 fleetside shortbed build
I finally got some time to work on the truck in the past few weeks. I picked up a new sony radio for my truck. The dash was already hacked up around the radio area so im going to install a modern radio. I got the radio sleve fitted into the dash so now I can finish the bodywork on the dash and get it ready for paint.

Re: My 64 C-10 fleetside shortbed build
I got some time to work on the truck today. I decided to take my other inner fender to have it blasted with the bedsides so I pulled the inner fender out. I figured I would fix the rust hole in it and get the rusted out brace out of the way before blasting. I went ahead and patched up the rust hole today. I still have to make/fab up a new brace for the under side. Looks like some good weather is on the way toward next weekend so maybe I can take some stuff to the blaster soon.

Re: My 64 C-10 fleetside shortbed build
Hey man, nice work on the truck. I thought I should scan back over your thread and see your progress and I found just what I've been looking for. I like the blast cabinet you made from the barrel. I knew I had seen one somewhere and I have just recently decided to make one. Any info or more pictures would be great. Thanks and keep up the good work.

Re: My 64 C-10 fleetside shortbed build
I went craigslisting this morning. I got this origional tailgate and an aluminum grill for my truck. The guy also through in the rings that go around the headlights. All for 150 dollars. Good thing is he was only 25 minutes from the house.

Re: My 64 C-10 fleetside shortbed build
Thanks for the nice comments guys, I think I got a decent deal on the tailgate. I worked on making the new support braket for my inner fender last night. Im not going to spot weld it back in until after I sandblast the inner fender though. All that work spent on something that will never be seen when put together. Heres a few pics, I even posted a pic of my metal brake, LOL

Re: My 64 C-10 fleetside shortbed build
Ever since I heard how bad these new after market radiater supports fit I had to put my front end together and see if mine would fit ok. I got all the bolts started and then I had to pick up on the cab and position it a little better. My radiater support leans back also but everything bolted up nice and I think its going to be ok. Only thing I didnt do is put the hood on, didnt have any help around for that. Also check out the washer they sent in the bolt kit for the radiater support, last pic.

Re: My 64 C-10 fleetside shortbed build
small update. Since I have the front end put together I thought I would go ahead and work on the panel gaps. Big dummy here didnt have the door on when I put the lower patch panel on the pass side fender. Now that I have the door on and I had to lower the fender to line the body line up with the door the fender was to long by about 3/16 inch. I went ahead and cut and fixed that. I guess the only people who dont make mistakes is the people doing nothing. I still got to finish the edge of the fender and make the gap a little better.

Re: My 64 C-10 fleetside shortbed build
Your truck is coming together nice. I remember when I was at the same spot in my build. I put my fender on without having one of my doors set right. Good luck!

Re: My 64 C-10 fleetside shortbed build
Thanks Flips, Yes I will pull it back apart for paint. I still have to sandblast the other inner fender and paint them both. I just stuck the front end together to get everything lined up and fitted.
