Re: 56 chevy build (Aus)
IM BACK and healthy
the cover got pulled off the truck yesterday and strip down for paint begins tomorrow. Gap all the edges and inside of the cab, bring it all home and fit it all up, being a heavy metallic silver, it just wont work painting everything apart. and ALOT of polishing and cleaning of the frame will the panels are of getting painted. After all the years of the girlfriend asking is there anything i can do to help. There finally is polishing. Quote:
Nup no snakes in the shed lately, but after the bush fires we just had the primary school up the road at 6 snakes in 3 days.

Re: 56 chevy build (Aus)
Hey fellas, been while.
Progress is slow, had a lot on my plate. Got myself a block of land with the girlfriend hahah But paint has started and is in full steam. Once i started the final sanding on the gaps while all the panels were on the truck i realised i was not happy with a couple of them so that took some time to fix and re prime. Changed my mind with the colour the week before it started getting sprayed. Had a panel beater that really knows what he is talking about when it comes to old classics come and have alook at the truck. He was very surprised at how straight we got the truck and assured me that it was straight enough for BLACK. So out the door with silver and black it is. I always wanted black but thought silver was a easier way out and i know i shouldn't think like that. Im so glad I'm not doing silver now, as a couple of my mates said "silver why? its a nothing colour *color*" I don't have to many photos blocking in the lines. Whipped up some racks to make painting a lot easier for the painters. The frame was disgusting when i stripped it down for the final time. I will post some photos of it all polished up soon. Got 4 rear panels to the painters to get rubbed and painted. AND THEY KILLED IT. No colour sanding as of yet, just flow coated. This is also on my mind ? do i go black or keep chrome? i will have many more photos to come

Re: 56 chevy build (Aus)
This truck is looking amazing.
As for the wheels, I wouldn't do black or chrome. A flat-ish silver would be my choice. Like the stock color of the '94-'95 Corvette ZR1 wheels.

Re: 56 chevy build (Aus)
Your truck is going to be sweet all together. I would go black on the wheels.

Re: 56 chevy build (Aus)
Paint is taking its time.. Should have some photos of the rear bed finished this week... Got the motor fired again and ever since the start I have had a couple of problems with the fuel rail leaking, so ended up changing it out for a decent quality product.
Couple of photos for a heads up just incase someone looks at buying a fuel rail in this style, DONT. Not worth the drama. Less chance of fire the better. Old one NEW [
