Yea fun, that is the word I would use. The hard part is just trying to determine the best place to cut and where I want my weld joint.

Got the front lines ready to run flex lines. Still waiting to complete my brakes. I ordered the wrong banjo fitting the last time.

It's been a while since I checked out your build. Dang, it's looking excellent! Have you started work on your bedsides yet? Mine were in about the same shape as yours. If you check out my build thread, pages 10 & 11, you can get some ideas on how to tackle it. On one of them, it was pushed in half way down the bed. I cut down the middle of the caved in part and it sprung back into it's original shape. I think I just got very lucky, but anyway, I hope yours work out for you.
And also, awesome choice in mufflers. I have those same ones. I love spin tech. I'm running exhaust all the way to my bumper to get it to quiet down a little more.

Thanks Daniel. I will more than likely get new bedsides at some point. No reason going this far and dealing with such crappy bedsides. I literally drove this truck like 3 or 4 times before tearing it apart. I don't even remember what the mufflers sounded like. Hopefully soon I will though.

Re: 1970 SWB : Porterbuilt to the Extreme "Double E"

I'm want to run side exhaust. I'm thinking of running the pipes up and over the frame and out in front of the rear tires. Since the bed floor needs to be raised it's no big deal to run the pipes out of the mufflers and over the frame. I just need to figure out how to run the tips. I don't want to cut into the bedsides. I'll figure it out eventually

That is how mine was originally ran. The few times I drove it the exhaust was straight 3" out of the headers and it was unbearably loud. I don't want to go out the back because of my tank. I also don't want turndowns because it seems like it was just stir up too much dirt and dust. Oh well I'll figure that out one of these days.

And lastly I cleaned up the driveshaft and painted it. This took a lot longer than anticipated. 40 years of rust and grease is not the easiest to clean.

Thanks. If it's bad u better have a big wire brush lol. I bought one for my 4.5" grinder worked good for the rust not so much for the grease build up though lol.
