Re: 1977 Chevy C10 known as SharkBite
Thanks man, it means a lot! It's been so much fun honestly yeah there's times I get pissed off but in the end when all of our trucks are done nobody can take the fact away that we built them ourselves from the ground up! And we have the memories and knowledge to build another!!
And the even better part is we will all know our trucks like the back of our hands and nobody else will!! Posted via Mobile Device

Re: 1977 Chevy C10 known as SharkBite
Yeah that's my baby, its actually the picture the people posted on the Craigslist Ad, but if you go check out my profile I have a picture of what it looks like now. I just thought it'd be appropriate to have my avatar as what I came home with the day we bought him.
Well that's where the bad news comes in.......when the PO got the truck the block was cracked well there was a motor in the bed of the truck which they put in the truck, and is my current motor when I had my timing issue came up my cousin came over and verified it to us as a 305 not 350 still got juice just not as big, and it's most likely a 2 bolt main so not a bunch of stuff I can do to it, now if whenever I pull it I find out it's a 4 bolt main well then it's on that 305 going to become a 383 haha I know I know I changed my mind on my motor again I decided go 383 just to keep it a long the classic nature and keep it carbed, I know I'm still going to be putting a pretty stout tranny behind it though to handle all the tq and what not.

Re: 1977 Chevy C10 known as SharkBite
Thanks man! I will tell you though I'm abusing the hell out of my 305 though it's a tad bit of an upgrade from that 2.7v6 so you can imagine when I cruise around with the v8 it's pretty much just play time for me

Re: 1977 Chevy C10 known as SharkBite
Well I had been scrolling yesterday looking at some stuff looking at block for the truck to build an engine the way I want it. Well today I was wondering what is the true output of a 305 being as most people complain that it's a crappy motor. If you feel like reading it check it out! I think I'm going to test the limits of this 305 that SharkBite has in it.

Re: 1977 Chevy C10 known as SharkBite
Well mine is at my parents house which because I'm lazy and want to spend money on other things besides an apartment, I'm moving back so I'll closer to the truck!
Right on man!! Believe me man, I've been trying to get this bed off for about 3 weeks now I've finally be able to get a couple of friends over, if not I'm going to do it a bet redneck way get tow straps hook it up to my dads truck and tell him to pull! It'll come off either way haha Posted via Mobile Device

Re: 1977 Chevy C10 known as SharkBite
Well I got an update...........THE BED IS OFF!!! Me and my dad started on it at about 10am, and well after much frustration, cussing, and banging it came off. Since it was just me and him we ended up doing it piece by piece so I'll stop talking and here's the pictures!!
What my dad is doing in 2 of the pictures is cleaning off the tank as there was tons of crap and trying to clear it hopefully going to have both sides both working and reading accurate soon! Tonight we went and bought a reciprocating saw, and tomorrow the farm bumper comes off for a soon to be chrome bumper that will be permanent! so once we get the bumper off hope to maybe get a little frame work done and clean it up some, and get ready to paint it, and still have to sand the rest of the cab now but stay tuned it's about to get interesting

Re: 1977 Chevy C10 known as SharkBite
Yeah buddy!!! Going to take some purple power here soon just to clean it off some more because there's a lot of build up on it, so I'm going to take care of that fix a few minor things and then the wire wheel be coming out no doubt man!! I'm amped it's so awesome having a bed less truck, took it around the block burned some rubber and was able to see the smoke I left I may not have a 350 but my 305 packs a punch

Re: 1977 Chevy C10 known as SharkBite
Well as i stated earlier telling y'all the bumper was coming off, well I'll just let this picture do the talking for me
Yes that's right the BUMPER is off!! So now he's been put up for the week and next weekend I'm going to pull him out and start scrapping off all the crap that's been a build up. Also forgot today I should be receiving my new door locks too! Has anyone of y'all replaced your sending units on your stock gas tanks?

Re: 1977 Chevy C10 known as SharkBite
My dad just called me, and well apparently the amount of money metal is worth has several gone down my dad just called me and told me he just went and scrapped the bed and everything and we got a HUGE $30 but hey it's $30 dollars we didn't have and I still have my bumper to scrap so hopefully that's another $30-$40 so I'll take the money, plus it's more money that can go to truck
