They're easy to deal with, down to earth people. The kit went in with ZERO issues, really nice fabrication work. It rides and drives great! The truck aligned very easy (standard charge) Really nice set of directions. I wasn't even aware of Porter Build at the time of ordering so I can't compare the two.....
this should have been easier for me, I've got a 427 sbc to put in the truck this winter...I've really got to read more carefully. That's a stout small block, I'm at 563hp and 565tq, made for pump gas, and a hydraulic roller, to keep it smooth for the street. Not many tracks on my Island in the Pacific. Sorry for being dense, and thanks for the info. Oh yeah gotta respect the truck pic post...not mine by the way, just cool

In hindsight, I could've went a little lighter on the motor. Sounds cool when your @ the engine builders, but not the most practical thing I've ever owned!!! F@#k it, its fun!!! Don't think I'll ever go to the track allot anyhow. I kinda like the real aggressive street thing. Well at least until the state trooper inspectors pull me over

p.s. those louvers look expensive

Re: How about some pics of 60-66 Trucks

I’m just wondering if the guy that punched the bed cover is out of the loony bin yet! I can’t even imagine how many hours standing at an unbelievably large press it must have taken to do all that work. Knowing one goof would ruin the whole thing. Very cool truck overall and nice job on the grille. It looks great, and different.

I'm going to take a guess and say that came off a cnc punch... Being the panels are flat. The Amada punch I used to program (former job), could knock that out in about 3min...(plus programming time)
If that was done by hand (old school).... Yeah, loony is right!!! looks nice either way

That makes more sense. Once again I've learned something new. I've never heard of a Amanda punch, but can see how better technology would be required for making things like computer cabinets with massive quantities of uniform ventilation louvers. Thanks for responding.

Re: How about some pics of 60-66 Trucks

Would you mind sharing some info on your wheels and tires.
What size wheels are they and what are they off of.
What size of tire are you running on them.
I have got stockers on my 64 GMC and I am a little nervous that they do not have bead locks.
Any thing that you can tell me is appreciated.
Thanks for your help.

It says Smitty's Rod SHop Lebanon TN on the door. I think the guy is on this site, he sold it a while back. I got the pics off the net years ago, always liked the look, the grill rocks, and all those louvers are off the hook. Here are all the pics I have...

I'm looking for the same thrill with mine, adrenalin rush when its just at idle. I was headed for a solid roller set up and pushing 625hp, the guy I found to build it dialed me back due to it being primarily a street ride. The trans brake will make up the fun factor, and if it hooks 12 sec will be plenty, or I'll need a full cage, not my plan for this truck. That louvered truck isn't mine. unfortunately

That grille and louvers is why I saved those pics, wouldn't hate for my truck to look that cool when I'm done.

I was warned about the race engine on the street too. I don't listen to anyone anyways, so I did it. The cage thing is kinda already getting old, climbing over the door bars. But thats the price you pay. The trans brake is useless on the street. I call it the burnout button! All in all, I like it. Kinda thinking about a gear vendors unit now, but no rush. I still have to get some miles on it before I can justify spending anymore money on it.

I was real happy with my combination until I stopped at a friends (2 mo. ago) He has a 37' Chevy drag truck, with tags and chutes. Its power by a twin turbo lsx block monster. Don't know any particulars on the motor, hes pretty tight lipped, just know it runs 9flat on 92 octane w/low boost. Now, I question if I should go a different direct power plant wise (down the road)....
