It's a shifter for the speedo used with the 2-speed rear axle.

Knocking down 5 layers of paint from previous owners.
I made this silly looking rolling cab cart to make it easy moving the cab in and out of the garage.

I like the hell out of it. Ive been saving the below picture for a couple years now because I do. I'm not sure I WILL do it, but I'm sorely tempted...

Dan I seen the picture you posted in the past and I felt the same way, that's what inspired me to come up with my own design. I appreciate the kind words.

Am I missing something? With the steering box mounted on top of the frame rail, the arm will move up&down instead of side to side. What other linkage are you going to ad?

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?

I just wanted to add in, i think that seat is REALLY sharp. Not only does it add a little color, but the fact that it looks like it's a part of the seat, and not some sloppy seat cover really adds to the fact. (although I like those covers too. Everything has their place)

Ha ha yeah that was the original pitman arm that I never quite took off all the way. I'm going to have the pitman arm vertical, with a drag link between the steering and pitman arms. It'll be real similar to the original system, except the box will be in front of the axle as opposed to behind.

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?

Cut the step loose and pushed it down, sill stayed level and parallel with the door bottom. Still needs welded and hammer and dolly work and door gap set but much closer.

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?

I finished up my new front brake lines and bled them today. Got good pedal and was hoping to neighborhood-drive it today but didn't happen. Maybe tomorrow. I did find the best and least messiest way to add fluid to my CPP under floor master and maybe it will help someone. I impulse bought a five pack of these bottles at Harbour Frt a few years back. I put brake fluid in one, screwed the nozzle off, and stuck on the hose and it worked great. It's easy to top the mc off because the bottle doesn't deliver too much volume per squeeze of the trigger and the flow stops when you release it. I found it more controllable than a squeeze bottle with a hose on it.

BTW, the saddle blanket seats in the previous posts look good. I like them both.

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?

I like old tools and that lug wrench looks interesting to me. It's actually called a Shock wrench. Here's a link to a tool vendor that gives a little info about it. I first assumed that you hit the ends with a hammer to loosen the lugs but you just spin the arm and the weight of the ends acts like an impact wrench.
