Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

Well guys i guess my truck is even more rare than i originally thought...i thought a SWB big back glass was pretty rare , but now i have something to add to that !! This truck has been in my family for over 30 years , it has only had one paint job other than the factory one.....The factory vin tag has never been removed still has the rosette rivets in it, the vin # is stamped on the frame in at least 2 places maybe more....ORIGINAL TRUCK !! So the story is when i got my cab mounts from Porterbuilt the cab mount holes didnt line up???? i thought what in the world ? so i called Nathan and he confirmed that the frame in my truck is a GMC frame !! the vin is a chevy vin matching the vin plate but the frame is GMC and with the GMC frame is slightly different cab mounts !! Who would have ever guessed that ??? Nathan is taking measurements and building some GMC cab mounts for my Chevy truck !! WOW ! Why in the world would GM make 2 different cab mounts ! Thank you PORTERBUILT for GREAT customer service !

Kind of like why do they continue to make the Silverado and Sierra.... I don't get it. Pick one already.

(Minor) Rant off.

That's wild Mike!

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

i agree completely i think DUPLICATION is one of GM's biggest downfalls !! For instance you could get a Chevy Venture van, a Pontiac Montana van, and Saturn had a version of the same van also.....STUPID !!

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

Lol no way not a GM minivan !!! GM trucks and tahoes and suburbans I believe in the whole rest of the GM line other than the 3.8 v6 isn't up to par as fat as I am concerned !! My wife's car is a 2004 Honda accord ex with 120k miles on it ! And I don't have another vehicle I just drive something different home every night from the Carlot ! I am just a poor boy tring to build my dream truck!!lol that's me

lol...That was funny the first time I read it... then I knew what you meant. the width of my screen put "concerned" on the next line.

I am 6'3" 260... I was about to say my V8 isnt up to par for me.

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

Yeah that would be a long haul for sure. We need a 67-72 power tour type of deal where we all meet somewhere like Goodguy's AZ show or something.
