Re: Project Patina Burb

I just did what Rusbuilt recommended. I bought a court of the Iron B and 2 bottles of the Patina Tiffany Green. They offer 4 different colors of Patina spray, but Rus recommended the Tiffany Green.

I mixed the Iron B with some Acetone and put it in a spray bottle and sprayed it where I wanted it. Then sprayed the Tiffany Green on. According to the directions, you need to spray the Tiffany Green on while the Iron B is still damp.

No sanding, or anything. Took a couple of hours to get it to look like that. It hasn't been outside at all.

Just wait until it sits outside some! Man talk about quick! I did my red truck outside and the next morning the truck looked like it had just came out of the weeds!

Awesome project and I like the patina idea. Makes me want to start another truck or burb project.

Re: Project Patina Burb

I picked up my stencil from the sign shop and started on my "fake" business for the doors. I dorked out so when you look at this keep one thing in mind, "it's my burb" .

Haha, that's cool. No since in all that work if it doesn't represent you! And tell my buddy Halen she did a great job on the paint.

Yes sir, I know my limitations. The white was really thin, so I let her do it. Figured it would be runny and jacked up if I did it.

Re: Project Patina Burb

Finished the driver's side door. I'm okay with it. I would recommend and the company told me not to add acetone/paint thinner with the Iron B. It gummed it up and made it impossible to get through a spray bottle. He told me to add distilled water to it if you are going to try to thin it down. I had to brush it on the door and it was a little thicker and clumpy.

LED Tail Lights installed. I'm at the house by myself, so I can't let you see them with the brake lights. Can't find a brick either.

Re: Project Patina Burb

Nothing really picture worthy Chuck. We were able to knock several things off of my punch list. We got the windows and vent windows in the front two doors, got the glass in the hatch, all of the doors aligned and shutting correctly, hood aligned, and my secret hatch cable installed. I installed the complete front in trim. Headlignts, grille trim, turn signal lenses, bumper. Also installed the mirrors, tail light lenses and reverse light lenses.

Bryan, Do you still need the headlight buckets? I was waiting for you to get back with me and figured you had been busy and then I just checked the thread and seen that you had responded but I never got a notice and I did not know that you had. Sorry that I missed that. Let me know.

On side note, did you get the hub cap? Let me know when you send the other one out.
