I think tonight when I get home, I will start to gather what parts receipts I have for this thing and get a (scary) idea how much is actually in this truck. I better not let the wife see it. I bet I could have purchased a dang nice cheyenne super 4x4 that runs and drives, and mine is still beating my butt!

Your making some great progress Ryan...and it doesnt matter how much you could have bought a completed Cheyenne Super for....your gonna have something way Cooler when your done.

trowing money at a car / truck in general is concidered the worst investment as that money allmost never turns a profit
i mean put hardwood floors in youre house and youre 2000 dollar investment makes the house worth 6000 more , put 2000 dollar rims on a truck and its still only worth 500 dollars more than without the rims
there some exeptions like restoring some classics or verry rare cars but still.....

i got a job again and having fun at it too

idea's for the trucks and the order of things to do are taking shape and get closer to being realized , a few more months and i be able to start building for real

i complete 2 of the trucks intoo running fashion one custom and one basicly stock the thirth will be sacrificed for parts

Yeah, very true. Once I get this one close enough to drive, and I get my 76 drive able, I'd like to sell the 76 because I've got to get on a house project of some kind.

I have the final link to get my tach working. The drive cable. My brother made me one up at his work. Now I need to get this truck running so I can see how it works. I might just stick it on another truck just to watch it for now.

Well, if you do come out for Good Guys and can add a couple days, it can be done that way also as I do have a Suburban which can carry multiple people.

I'll keep you updated if we can work the trip out. That would be pretty darn cool!

It is an adapter that replaces the oil fill tube on the front gear housing cover. Inside it is a drive that goes over the injection pump nut. The other end has a drive shaft and a mini gear box fits on the end of it. Then the cable hooks on the other end of the gear box. I'll take a pic of it today for ya.

This morning in between rain storms, I started back on the truck. I started putting trim on my RH fender and realized I need some different clips for my trim that was missing. I'll be making a list of all so I don't have to make more than one trip to the local 67-72 parts man. I also cleaned my headliner and re shot it black. I will be doing the door panels tomorrow. Then to try and figure out where all the a/c stuff went under the dash in the proper orientation.

Here are a few. I used first gen dodge engine mounts and built a cross member for the truck.

The headliner dried, and looks better in person than in pics.


Here is a little forward progress, but not much.


This is the tach drive that runs off the injection pump retaining nut. It is plastic and screws in where the oil fill tube does in the front cover.

Hey, Ryan can you post the part numbers for the tach drive parts? I found a tach drive but it is for a VE pump. I need the part number for the piece that drives off the injection pump retaining nut on a p-pump.

This weekend I got my hood sanded, prepped, and primered. I also changed my door panels from olive green to black. Pics tomorrow.

We'll see how I feel tonight. I'd like to get the door the rest of the way taken apart and get it sand blasted. I need to get the doors back on it so I can hang the fenders and line it up.

Yep, I used vinyl spray paint. I've used it in the past and it works decent. I didn't get min from LMC though. I just got it at Oreilly's or Napa. I wanted to make the swap to black with out paint, but I need ore thing worse right now. Plus a few cans of paint is cheap.

Here is the progress on the RH door. I started repairing the dent from when I caught the mirror on a building as I was pushing the truck in the shop with a skid loader about 4 years ago.
