I'm not sure either? I can get some measurements Tuesday. If you want.
It looks like my engine sits a little lower than yours.

Well you're getting some catch up time.
We've been moving from a 1700 square foot building,
To a new facility, With five buildings, The largest is over 10,000 square feet.
The area was a collision repair center. That has been shut down for
a couple of years. And gutted by crack heads. So, I've been busy
rewiring the building. And doing building repairs. Including, An office area,
Two shops, And a freshly rebuilt paintbooth.

All in all. Updates coming soon

I've two of the four compressures running, Two air dryers running.
Next I'll work on the next building, With a large bay, And a newer paintbooth.

Re: 68 C 10 stepside "My American Bulldog"

very jealous, I haven't done a thing myself, went on vacation for a few weeks and need to do spring cleaning/storage before I can get back at it, getting the itch to work at it again so hopefully in the next week or so I'll have some new posts myself, all these parts laying around just look outta place

Well, I said the end of the month, But I guess this is close enough.
I started on the bed. Got it basically torn apart. Wood is in great shape,
The PO replaced it. But I found holes and more holes, That have been
bondo'd over. As well as snap holes all around the edges. About 60 holes total
But cob35 loaned me his gas mig, And gave me a welding lesson or two.
But my welds didn't look as pretty as his.
After some grinding, They all looked good.

Re: 68 C 10 stepside "My American Bulldog"

I also got some more done on the cab.
Got the rest of the paint off, Except the firewall, And bottom.
I had dents across the back, Looked like the gas tank expanded.
Looks good now though. And the cab corners where a lot better
than I expected.

First You apply a generous amount of aircraft stripper.
And remove all the loose paint. Most will come off easily
with a putty knife. Depending on how many layers
there are, You may have to repeat this step.

Once I'm down to the inside bends, I use a wire brush
after letting more stripper work.

One more light coat of stripper, And a coarse scotch bright.
Will remove anything that's left.

Wipe it down with some acetone on a rag.

Then I coat it with phoscote to neutralize any rust, And
prevent it from rusting, Until I prime it.

Re: 68 C 10 stepside "My American Bulldog"

Well, I've about got everything stripped.
I even tore the bed completely apart.
Tues and Wed, I plan on hitting a few
hard to reach areas with the sand blaster.
Then I can start etch priming
