Re: Kabwe's aka Bam's build
You will also need to trim about 3" off of the front of the frame rails. Front crossmember and radiator support are same, but the 58 fenders are longer which pushes the bumper and brackets out farther.

Re: Kabwe's aka Bam's build
This was my first time using this product, a buddy of mine told me to try it. I decided to try it on my dash to fill some minor imperfections. I could have used high build primer, but I wanted a reason to try this stuff. I sprayed great really smooth. I had to use a 2.2 tip that's how thick it is, but most of it will end up on the floor but man it's a great product. I liked it so much I did the roof also.

Re: Kabwe's aka Bam's build
Kabwe, Truck is coming along great. I always used shopline filler primer and wonder if you had ever used that and if there is a difference between that and the slick sand. Is one better than the other? Keep up the great work.

Re: Kabwe's aka Bam's build
The truck is looking good and thanks for turning me to that primer you are using by Southern Polyurethanes, Inc that stuff is gr8. I won't have to use it on everything just on the stuff I will have to take down to the bare metal. I'm gona get that Slick Sand as well. Think you can spare me some until I get my own?....can ya help a brother out? I'll bring a can over tomorrow ok, hahaha just kidding

Re: Kabwe's aka Bam's build
That looks very good!!! It looks like it did a very good job filling in the small imperfections. It looks like it did a really nice job around the third light.

Kim its okay to shoot primer outside you have to block sand it level anyway. When it comes time to shoot color that's a different story.lol Last edited by Kabwe; 08-01-2011 at 02:40 AM. |

Re: Kabwe's aka Bam's build
Hey Guys,
I just wanted to update you as to why I have not been posting to my build thread lately. I been busy working on a 1945 Chevy. Here some pics of me installing a Mustang 2 Suspension. Its in really good condition. Its amazing how these old beast hold up. Isn't this thing cool, I wish it was mine. The owner of the truck told me he had it in the shop for 4 years to have the Mustang 2 installed and after 4 years all that was done as boxing the frame (and that was not a good job). I can't believe how people take advantage of other people, especially older people. Anyway he was shocked I did it in a weekend, but its nothing but a Mustang 2 Kit. It looks like I'm unknowingly going into business helping the older generation build their hotrods without being taking advantage of.lol But I like helping them so its cool, now we've got to do something about that rear.lol Its a cool old truck I thought you guys would like to see it.
