Re: Plus Five
the install of the gauges was a pain...
they come in from the back and there isn't much room. speaker covered in fabric, epoxied on the back side.

Re: Plus Five
I made up short gauge harnesses to make the installation easier,
but the gauge brackets and bezels were a pain in the.... Glad that is behind me. Now there are just a few wires left, brake switch, turn and high beam indicators, hood tilt switch and the wiring will be finished. I'll have to check all the lights , then it's on to filling the fluids, and bleeding the brakes.

Re: Plus Five
I used the original glove box latch, but had to rebuild it.
The pivot piece has little round pins molded into it that were nearly worn off. I took it apart cleaned it up, and drilled it out for a new pivot pin. I made the pin from coat hanger wire. I sprayed some white lithium grease into it, readjusted the striker tab and it closes like new.

Donandal
Just a thought, considered the new lower valance that you created, maybe paint it the same as the exterior color. Truck is fandamtastic NC

Re: Plus Five
Man. This truck is looking incredible! Do you work at a hotrod shop or something? Professional job to say the least! I can see it fetching six figures on the block regardless of wether you want to sell or not, it's nice to know it holds value. Can't wait to see more progress.

and college. I really enjoy doing this stuff. My wife cracked up when I showed her your six figures comment... she joked that she's going to haul mulch with it just so it gets driven! I mostly like the building part, not the driving or shows.

Thanks for the info, I put three in and filled the pan, so I'll add the rest when I start it up. Maybe some time this month. I cranked the engine about 10 seconds, then waited a minute and cranked another 10 seconds and had good oil pressure. fuel and ignition were disconnected Sweet!!!!

Are you using distilled water?

I haven't filled it completely yet. I have about 3 gallons in so far, but I haven't started it yet, just cranked it a couple times to check for oil pressure. I'll have to read up on bleeding all the air out. I'm heading out on a two day trip this morning, so I'll get up to speed on that on my layover. I'm going to get a crew together to be observers and helpers to bleed all the systems and spot leaks when I fire it up. Maybe this weekend!

Re: Plus Five
I have most of the fluids in the truck, but I decided I don't
want to put the gasoline in the tank until I get some warmer weather. I'd just as soon not start the garage on fire if I have a leak, so I'll start it up outside. In the meantime, I started on the cover for the sub woofer and radio amplifier and radio. I'm building this from .060 3003 aluminum sheet. When it's finished I'll paint it to match the satin dash color. The sub woofer I bought fits nicely behind the seat. It leans back at about the same angle as the seat back, so it doesn't come close to hitting the seat, even when fully extended back.

Re: Plus Five
the factory sub woofer box is fastened to the aluminum front with
the speaker grill ring so it shouldn't leak air. the side panels will lean back to match the front cover and will be trimmed to follow the cab corners. The two ovals drawn out in marker will be cut out and perforated aluminum screen will be attached to ventilate the amp.
