Re: 24 years later....here we go

I got the billet fuel door roughed in. At least I didnt cut the hole to big because the flange that it sits on is about 1/4" all the way around. Still need to mount it permanant and fill in the low spot but it shouldnt be bad. I have a plasma cutter and mig welder so I can cut some pieces to fill the spots and slope up to it. Then I will have the color matched liner sprayed in.

I wish I'd have known you needed parts. Valerie and I went by Kenny's Trucks on our way to Tulsa last Friday. I could have brought back whatever you need to save shipping.

Re: 24 years later....here we go

those guys in Arlington are pretty reasonable on stuff. I just need front and rear sport bumpers and an outer grill shell. Mine is okay, I may just have it professionally polished. I already removed the anodize and sanded out the gouges. Anybody know a good metal polisher in DFW? Or should I just get a new one...?

Re: 24 years later....here we go

I looked at several different doors but not alot to choose from that fit the bed grooves like this one, at least that I could find. I took your advice and went ahead and got this one...

Thats a good looking fuel door, I am still contemplating whether I'm going to get the square, rectangle, or round one myself.

I considered the oval one but thought that the rectangle would be easier to fill in the low spots...Screamin did a very nice job on his in that black truck.

Re: 24 years later....here we go

got the headliner painted with SEC super white (thanks Zoomin) and installed it last night. It really came out nice...The not so blue seatbelts are coming out to be exchanged. They are not the blue that I was expecting.

Re: 24 years later....here we go

LMC sells a Blue 3-point retractable seatbelt that might be alot closer to the color of blue you are looking for, page 111 of their online catalog, part #38-2249-LL, or you could always go gray or black.

Re: 24 years later....here we go

Thanks Xeen. I contacted the place where I got em and they are willing to make up a new set for only the cost of shipping. They are gonna send me some color samples to pick from first. They are really nice belts. The blue that I got looks right until it gets against the blue in the truck and it kind of makes em look purple.

got the seat frame all cleaned and painted and some springs repaired. Also got some batting at Hobby Lobby to put over the foams and got the new covers put on. Think it turned out really nice...

Re: 24 years later....here we go

It turned out pretty nice. The parchment vinyl matches the door panels perfectly. Im waiting on Coys to send my rear wheels, they said they would have them "in May". Im really close to finishing short of any unknown things that pop up. The Toyo's should be coming pretty quick...thanks for the comments

Re: 24 years later....here we go

picked up the bumpers and outer grill shell this morning. Also ordered the Toyo Proxes last night. I had put off ordering them because Im waiting on the rear wheels from Coys. Got the grill and front bumper on today. Just have to put the park light assemblies in and hang the rear bumper. Really getting close.

Re: 24 years later....here we go

I've become a fan of the Toyo Proxes myself. Really nice tire for the money, plus a good range of sizes.

You're wrapping this up just in time.

Re: 24 years later....here we go

Same tires I got on my blazer. Did you ask Coys to quote you on a set of tires? I bought my wheels and tires straight from Coys mounted and balanced and their price on the tires whooped the snot out of everybody else!

Btw- the truck is looking kick ass

Re: 24 years later....here we go

Just spent the last hour catching up on your build... Your truck really looks great, a lot of really good choices! Can't wait to see those wheels installed. Since we are so close would love to see it in person at some point.
