Yea, no neighbors (and no HOA). We're researching options now on wheels and who may be able to widen the ralleys...no solid direction yet. Maybe just narrow the rear to stock width and keep it like it is for now...I could really use the funds elsewhere (like putting it towards a lift in the shop ).

Thanks, I would really like to put some meats in there, but...struggling with funds appropriation and distribution

Not a big deal, but did get the pass. seat mount fabbed up...no tilt or anything though for the time being. I just got tired of running around by myself...the dog is thinks this is his personal coach with all the space!

Re: Our "What are we going to do?" 66 Suburban Build

Hey now...

We made the decision to play around with this a little bit...

Cutting the rear 60 to 54" WMS to WMS, widening the ralleys to 15x12 and dropping on some 29x15x15 Hoosiers!! (with a little tubbing)

Re: Our "What are we going to do?" 66 Suburban Build

Another member mentioned to me that he used blank wheel hoops from Speedway. They have them up to 15 x 14. But I measured the 6 hole ralley wheels and the centers are .500" bigger than the ID of those blanks. He must have used different centers.

That'll be nice with some wider tires upder the back. It looks like those rear calipers are the D369's?

It seems to make sense while we're having to replace the rear...we're having fun with it!

Was thinking we should have tried to make the 31x18 fit...this was the more reasonable choice

Maybe not, we have MRW widening our wheels and discussed just having the centers welded into new shells, he said that he has to reduce the diameter of the ralley center to work with his shells too...didn't think that would look right.

Picked up the narrowed 60 housing, shortened mosers, and a lightly used Trak Lok today...and the big, brown, truck made a stop also.

Re: Our "What are we going to do?" 66 Suburban Build

Cool build, definitely a sleeper. Might have to do a burb up someday to cruise my family in....my girlfriend isn't excited about my truck not having a back seat and the fact my little girl will be riding in a single cab. I used to feel safer driving my truck than I do my caddy lol. I like the holes you made in the top of the radiator support. How do you go about making those cutouts look so cool?

Re: Our "What are we going to do?" 66 Suburban Build

Thanks JM...the burbs are really nice to cruise in, lots of room for whatever and you just don't see many of them!

The holes are dimpled died...simply pop a hole and use these to form the dimple, either in the press or if you have the style with thru holes, a nut and bolt.

They're so much fun, we tend to over use them...

What gears did you get?

Who did you get your dimple dies from? I bought mine years ago from Xtreme 4x4 there in BA. They are made by Light Racing.

Since we had to pull the trailing arms off to swap in the new urethane bushings we went ahead and beefed them up a bit...well, just one today...other one tomorrow.

We're just plating the outside and skip welding the two halfs together...eliminated all the flex.
