Re: project (sweet pea)

Well here we go.....First i blocked the whole door (in E-coat) with 80 grit with my long block.....Found a small crown in the door that is not supposed to be there......It probably would never been seen....But it was driving my crazy so after i got the lock cylinder welded up and ground smooth...i wiped the center of the door end to end with glaze.....i would have used some polyfill primer...but i am out so i went this route.after about an hour of blocking from 80 to 180 then to 220 i was ready for some primer.....Name: lock filler.jpg

Re: project (sweet pea)

One more little update... got the column and steering shaft mocked up....Kinda sucks though i scratched the hell out of the shaft so i will need to spot it back in....i also chipped my upper control arm so i will spot that in also....i do Expect to get chips on these and other pieces .......But when it does its maiden voyage...it will be chip and scratch free....LOL..And for anyone that is doing or has done the tilt conversion.....Does the main steering shaft look to close to the upper control arm....?? The truck is setting on the ground at the moment...And i am pretty sure it wont ever hit.....But it looked close to me......?

Hey Tony,
I just went out and looked at mine and I would say yours if fine. Mine would fall in the same place as yours.

Re: project (sweet pea)

Got the passenger side door lock shaved today and everything glazed up....I am going to go back out in the A.M and give it a blocking and prime....I also picked up a new trans cooler....FOR CHEAP....Went to my local Napa Store and they had one that some one returned ....And they took most if not all of the Mounting Hardware and hoses...SO they could not sell it or return so i got it for $10.00.....Its a heavy duty unit And is $40.00 new so WOOHOO...It will replace my canister style i bought... i just do not think the canister style will be enough......I also bought a pair of the after market headlights (H3) bulbs i think....I got them from a junk yard this A.M for 5 bucks each....They look exactly like the ones i bought for my 67....And those dudes was 80 bucks ....So score again......I will Post some pics up tomorrow ....Name: plug.JPG
