Re: 1965 chevy truck one piece @a time
here is an picture update here is a couple of pics of the old backing plate and the ones that had to be modifide from the caprice backing plates to fit the wheels .. had tooo widen the hole to side it over and end of the axle and redrill the holes for the bolt spacing used the 90-96 caprice 5x5 and drums all new hardware and not running an e-brake also mounted the new adjustable rear pan bar .. cant wait to put the bed back on to see how the wheels look under the rear fenders to see it we need stiffer shocks

Just a little update took some shots last nite and went by tonite waiting on the power steering lines and the trans cooler .. the oils been changed and
antifreeze put in hoping to have it running monday nite .. then finish up the bed . they will have to roll the lip on the fenders to clear the side walls of the tires just a little snug hope to have it home in time for the three day weekend at the end of the month |

Re: 1965 chevy truck one piece @a time
It looks like were going to have to split the rear fenders and widen them about and 3/4 to an inch wider to get the tires to fit under the fenders .. any way i'm going to use the old fenders and cut spacers frome them and have and extra set of steps to match the mod also .
another step back wards but hey that s part of the fun just more money .. |

Re: 1965 chevy truck one piece @a time
went and stoped by the shop tonite to see how they are wrer doing on the spacing of the fenders . they are about an 1 5/8's wider now over stock
and still in side the cab body line so there not sticking out . its going to be hard to tell unless they know what there looking for had to do some slide mods to the fender to match up . but when finished i hope it won't be noticable |

I've thought of doing mine that way, but I also like the way Lakeroadster did his. He just widened the whole box.
