Re: 1968 Chevrolet SWB Stepside Restomod

Hey all;
Sad news I have been watching an auction for 4 days and I just missed bidding on a set of GM Trailblazer SS exhaust manifolds by one minuite and they sold for $75, that's really depressing considering I won't see another pair for sale in my lifetime for that cheap..

Re: 1968 Chevrolet SWB Stepside Restomod

Hey all;
Well hell I'm kinda stuck untill I find a set of headers.
I'm going to need some where the front two tubes sweep back instead of go down in order to clear the CPP perches, the search is on.

Speaking of headers. I just got done building some for Bompenstein.
It wasn't all that difficult.
I wasn't able to find any that "sweep back" like you mentioned.
Just a thought.

Re: 1968 Chevrolet SWB Stepside Restomod

Hey all;
After some research I found some headers that will work.
Not surprising I found them right here on the board they were originally custom designed for a board members project by Jamie Joyce from Doug Thorley Headers.
Here is a link for anyone interested http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=287231

Re: 1968 Chevrolet SWB Stepside Restomod

Hey all;
My build is on hold for the moment untill I can secure some more funds for the Headers.
On a personal note, I can't believe I am being held up this close to the finish line, it seems like every time I turn around this truck is Five Hundred Dollaring me to death.

Re: 1968 Chevrolet SWB Stepside Restomod

Hey all;
I just ordered the THY-324Y-C headers from Mike at Doug Thorleys, I'm stoked!
$590 shipped with the member discount, the price has gone up just slightly since 2008 as you might expect.
Here's the link if you want to check them out.
