Re: Lets see the survivor trucks! original paint only!
A couple more of my 71 short box 4x4
In northern Calif on antelope hunt Nevada Pulling my boat in Idaho This was a slide that I copied backwards. I am still running the original transmission and transfer case, the motor has been rebuilt 2 times. Axles and running gear are all original. I bought it new in Calif on July 20, 1971 and I still have all the papers on it, the truck has been registered in Calif-Nev-Texas-Arkansas-Idaho. It is my daily driver, wood hauler, hunting rig. I keep saying that one of these days I will re-build it from the ground up, but!!! I know that I have some other photos and if I find them I will post them. |

Re: Lets see the survivor trucks! original paint only!
Few pictures of my 71 Cheyenne farm truck. no trailer queen or mall crawler here. been worked hard its whole life. Original 350 died with around 500,000 miles on it. Needs a few thousand in upgrades and resto which is happening this summer. I will start a build thread to track progress. paint is in okay condition. might keep it. mild lift, tires, engine needs a little work(283ci out of a 65) paint, reseal, and some misc parts to bring it back to life coming in the near future. Really love this paint scheme. white/med bronze/white. They don't build em like they did back then.

Re: Lets see the survivor trucks! original paint only!
thanks Jim, I love this old truck, told the wife that when I die just put me in the cab, Reba on the tape deck and drop me in the hole........If Ole Yella broke down on the road I would have no complaints.
