Re: Project#2 67-72 Restoration's Shop truck
Got the carrier bearing mount off and painted. And got most of the pass side modified to fit the headers. Stopping to eat a late dinner now since it's 9 and I try not to cut/grind/hammer after 9pm...
Will go back out for a bit more later and bmerdoc is coming over tomorrow afternoon after I get back from Church. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Project#2 67-72 Restoration's Shop truck
Yes, it's the 010 high nickel 4 bolt main. Basic 355 .030over with comps 268 cam and performer intake....simple yet good power and torque.

Re: Project#2 67-72 Restoration's Shop truck
I really like that cam. I had one in a 406 a while back. It would pull forever.

Productive...yes..... Engine running? ...no... Quote:
Thanks! Bmerdoc is going to try for tomorrow night now. I got the starter installed tonight as well as vacuum and gas lines ran (simple section from hard line to fuel pump) Wiring is my biggest holdup from firing it up now.....will work on that tomorrow afternoon/evening then Nick plans to prime the pump and install the distributor. I have a few hours of contracted cad work to do in the morning and a couple stops after that but from around 3-on I'll be back on the truck... Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Project#2 67-72 Restoration's Shop truck
Thanks! Still not running...ran into an issue with the balancer bolt and balancer....thankfully had a new bolt that seems to be holding fine.........
Also took a while to sort through the wiring and I realized I put the wrong fuse block/harness in. It's a nice one but not correct year or options so that was changed tonight. Got the wiring started, flywheel bolted to converter, distributor installed...and a lot of time wasted looking for tools/bolts in my cramped, overstuffed garage....but happy to have a garage as it was in the 40's and raining... Thanks again nick for coming by and all your help. Hopefully by wed night when he comes back we can get it fired up.... I have a lot to do between now and then....plan to put the front clip on so we can use that wiring, have grounds hooked up, and have the battery in place with the junction block and the regulator bolted down. Re: Project#2 67-72 Restoration's Shop truck
Also got tach wiring ran, wire for hei made up, oil pressure line hooked up and run into cab, gas pedal installed, carrier bearing mount installed and driveshaft verified (nick I am going to use another one I have....also has a new carrier bearing and after some 0000 steel wool the yoke looks new and u-joints are all good)
Installed a power outlet in the lighter hole and bolted and unbolted the fan/clutch three times Posted via Mobile Device
