I have to say that you are doing an amazing job on your truck. Also, your wife is amazing and did an excellent job on the seat for you. It is nice to see all of your progress on it. Thanks C@rnut001. More filler and sanding, box is shaping up good, got some primer on the hood, it still has a few defects to work out.

More sanding and filling, box is almost done, amazing what an inline sander will do for you. I should have the box ready for primer tomorrow. I also put some blue in the sides of the tailgate area and glazed the hood.

Started working on the body but my sander decided to quit working, i will run in and exchange it tomorrow. I did hand sanding for about an hour and added a touch more filler, its getting pretty good. I also installed the box and that was a pain in itself, i had to adjust the pass gas tank down a touch it was rubbing on the box. I then bolted it down and shimmed the cab to get the body lines nice and straight. I welded on my exhaust tips and my wifey came out and helped me install the windshield, she is the greatest. It took about an hour, the trick was getting the locking part locked in.

Body work and more body work. Picked up the new sander this one works like it has a turbo, guess the other one was just bad to start with. The bed sides are in glaze, will sand down and hopefully be in primer tomorrow. I also wired up the tail lights, i found the running light wire was broken up by the engine, fixed that and then had to replace a back up light socket that was broken. I also wired in a 7 pole trailer plug.

Bedsides are done and self etching primer is drying, once thats dry i will shoot them with my auto motive primer. The hood is half sanded and will be done tomorrow and hopefully the doors as well. Really hoping to have everything in paint tomorrow.

Today was just one of those days where everything didnt go too smooth, but i did manage to prime the hood, fuel doors, and dr door. I also got the pass door stripped and some body work done, it fell off the stand a few days ago and put some nicks in it for me.

Thanks y5mgisi. Well its blue, not a good day for the paint. My primer seemed to spray a little funny but i didnt think much of it, sanded it all down and got ready for paint, mixed the paint put it in the gun got about half way through and it barley sprayed. Stopped took it apart cleaned, cleaned, cleaned. Put it together got one decent coat on everything, then the gun decided not to fan out very much, and it just got worse from there (i ended up looking like a smurf). I used up all my paint since the gun was wasting it, i had a really hard time keeping any type of wet edge going so needless to say its not too shinky because of the orange peel effect. So a few days will wet sand and buff it, that should fix the paint issue i hope. The box body work turned out really good, but i did notice that a few defects were visable on the hood. Hopefully can start reassembly tomorrow.

Yeah zebb the board was looking a little plain, never did get it too work in think something in the adjustable fan part broke or plugged up so i just threw it away. Hopefully the paint is thick enough for a lite sand and buff, i looked a little better today now that it has set up but it needs some help. I installed the bumper and tail lights. I also hung the dr door, what a pain to get that thing to align again, i had to pull the fender back off and then i noticed the weatherstripping was blocking its forward movement, so off it came and then i lined up as well as can be expected. I never really cared for the larger gaps but i think part is because of using newer doors, or so i have herd. Anyways the door opens and closes good and lines up good enough, put the fender back on and lined it up as much as possible. I also got the fuel doors installed, they both needed a little tweeking, and hooked up the fuel fill hoses.

Hey, it is looking great...you will always know more about your paint than anyone else seeing it. It is looking good and you have done an excellent job on it. (Also, you did it all yourself and saved a ton of money doing it). Anyway, I wanted to say excellent job and good luck on buffing it up later.

Thanks C@rnut001, it is defiantly a lot of work. Today i was able to install the passanger door, that one lined up in about 10 min, nice for a change. The fender not so much it is made in tiawan so go figure, the cure abouve the body line is not exactly the same but good enough. I also got hood on, i didnt have time to fit it but its on. I also got the pas side vent window installed, weatherstripping, window, power window unit and the mirror. The nice thing about the windows from the suburban is that someone already tinted them. I also got the dash bezel in.

I like it too cornnut. I put the pas door together got the door panel on not to bad using all these old parts they just need to be cleaned up. I got the dr mirror installed and i replaced the vent window gasket the other one never really sealed all that well. I had to order a new seal for the window the old one was tore up in the corner by vent window, that should be here on friday. I got the bed cleaned up and sprayed in my bedliner, turned out pretty good i think. I also got hood aligned.

New window channel came in today from classic parts and its percision brand and was cheaper than LMC. It seems to fit a little better than the other one i had. Got the window and door panel one, but it fought me the whole time. I am leaving the sub style switch in for now, will figure something else out later just want to get this on the road. I also got my pressue guage fittings together so i can check the tranny pressure before i take it out on the road. I also started stripping the tailgate the whole bottom has some rust that needs to be fixed.
