Pictures does this truck no justice at all. It is the most beautiful white you could imagine. The owner is a very nice guy. Talked to us about a total of 1hr about the truck as the day went on.

Our city sucks and thats about as close as they let us get to a drag strip, we have an airport but they wont let us go near it. The local car club, "Street wheelers" have been trying to get the city to let them build one for 20 years but the city wont budge. there is a strip about a two hour drive away in medecine hat, but its too far out of the way for it to be worth going during the weekend event. oh well i guess they will just have to get used to everyone ripping up and down the main strip in the middle of the city.

Re: How about some pics of High Performance haulers.

We've got Thunder in the Valley here in Port Alberni, Vancouver Island. Its very successful and pulls in millions for the community, just one weekend. Hard to believe the city won't give you a weekend, if they'll let you do that on the streets. Good old Political thinking. Two hours isn't that far though

Re: How about some pics of High Performance haulers.

They give us a big weekend event but theres always a catch, they get as many police officers as they can on the streets and pretty much have a zero tolerance mindset the entire weekend. My buddies dad has a 71 swb with a 454 under the hood, 4 link rear, the works. He got pulled over for a burnt out licence plate light and that ticket led to about 5 more. they will literally pick your vehicle apart when you get pulled over and its a real downer for a lot of people because they get discouraged to cruise if they have a nearly complete project or something like that.

Re: How about some pics of High Performance haulers.

Wow that's brutal, it's sad when the powers that be loose site of the financial gains weekend events bring to a community. Ours got pretty bad with burnouts, lots of police presence now, but if you just cruise they leave you alone. The drag races are that weekend so most people head there to play. Hotels, restaurants, gas stations, parts stores, and places to shop all benefit from hundreds of people coming into the community, people make a day or weekend of it. Maybe not necessary when oil is paying all the bills. Later

This is my 86 GMC. My best 1/4 mile time is 11.73 all motor and 10.86 on a 150 shot with a 496 with stock heads. It made 569 hp on the dyno.

Thanks Kevin. I'm on a mission now to make the truck look as shiny as the motor.

Re: How about some pics of High Performance haulers.

Here's mine. I've had it for 15 yrs. Its been painted 13. It was my HS ride now, my street/strip toy. It ran a best of 13.25 @ 103.88 this summer. I sold the SBC the end of Oct. I'm putting in a 468 this winter. Hoping for bottom 12's maybe an 11.9. The cam selector said 573hp @ 5500 and 630tq @ 4000. Anyway, here's a couple of pics.
