Re: Project "Bickle" 1948 1/2 ton 4.3 4l60e
well its been another year.
we picked up the neighbors property to the one we got last year. really bad shape, like so bad we pulled the linoleum in the bathroom and the subfloor disintegrated, just joists and crawl space! so that slowed me down but we got it sorted and rented oct1, which has let me work on trucks again. here is the latest, 48 (yes i am aware of the identity crisis, suffice to say it is a 48) with all the usual tricks. 4.3 4l60e, new carpet and seat and gauges. I really like how the blue turned out I have other stuff going on that I will update later, like a rolled 2002 tundra 4x4 that will be getting my last 47-53 cab and the 54 longbed I picked up, and the 48 ford f1 I will be doing a chassis swap on.

Re: Project "Bickle" 1948 1/2 ton 4.3 4l60e
i havent started it yet, i am going to do a quickie 41 for a friend, i may walk through that though.
i put bob (its the name on the door, bob peters construction) in the yard for chrsitmas card fam pictures tomorrow. a guy is coming tuesday to look at it. lots of knick knacks left. even hardcore patina haters like this truck, but they still say it out the side of their mouth like they're ashamed of it haha.

Re: Project "Bickle" 1948 1/2 ton 4.3 4l60e
not a patina fan, personally, but it looks great. like it was built that way.
would be interested to see how you do that F,F,F,Ford. I know there is an online hotrod write up on doing something like that. the bad thing about the F,F,F,Ford deal is all that money you gotta spend on paper bags, and how noisy they are while you wear them over your head so nobody knows it's you driving. haha |

Re: Project "Bickle" 1948 1/2 ton 4.3 4l60e
even you will like this one!
i got a GREAT 48 f6 cab down in kiowa and picked up an f1 front clip and a bed, the guy who i usually have upholster my seats listed a great set of buckets on fb, I got a 92k mile grand marquis for the 4.6/auto, and a buddy sold me a ste of torque thrusts attached to a good 98 s10 frame. I figure I will need some glass and seals, but I have almost everything else!

Re: Project "Bickle" 1948 1/2 ton 4.3 4l60e
Nice. No squirrely holes around here, well picked over.
Now those are red seats, should look good. Hope you're not claustrophobic with having to wear those bags over your head. Haha |

i am not sure i even have enough pictures to do a build thread haha. too much housework. momma is already angling on another.
the wheels are 20x8 and 20x9.5 std offset american racing salt flats. 245/45 and 275/35 tires.

Not to worry father/son...it'll be interesting and informative whatever he's building , and of course it will make me feel like an extreme under achiever lol.

Re: Project "Bickle" 1948 1/2 ton 4.3 4l60e
yes i am slacking again. I helped my homie larry put his column and hydroboost in his 41, and I have been working on taking apart another 46 to finish developing my 41-46 folding mount kit. in between larry had a stroke, the septic at the new rental reversed flow, and I caught that bug going around. I will put up some pictures this week and I am thankful that people remember to prod me for updates!

I'm giving you a pass, what with all that. Plus I think that helping others counts, even though it doesn't move your truck along.
