Re: 72 Dropmember Suburban
What program was this illustration done on? Also, just curious--- is this the same compressor that they used to use on Ford and aftermarket A/C systems? In this air pump application, what are the vent cap, etc, on the top of it (that I see in the installed photos) for?

Before I headed out of town this week, my york compressor got here. I got back home last night and my seat covers made it. Got to work a little in the garage and got the bracket fabbed up. Im going to order a turnbuckle for the bottom to tension it. Gotta go find a belt now. ![]() |

Re: 72 Dropmember Suburban
What are you I singing for a pressure switch for the edc? I used a square d with an unloaded. Keeps the pressure of the head for easy start up on the compressor works flawless and adjustable

Re: 72 Dropmember Suburban
I dont have the pressure switch or a check valve yet. Do you have a part number for the one you have? looks like square D has several. I have the coalescing filter that kilby used to sell with the oil return kit but I havent decided where to mount them yet.

Re: 72 Dropmember Suburban
I'm pretty sure this is the one.9013FHG-42J59M1X
Has an on off lever right on it. I have mine tightened up to around 250 psi. I didn't use an oil return kit on mine. Just put a water trap about 2ft behind in a location easy to drain it really doesn't push much oil through. Usually drained the trap every couple weeks and I drove this daily while always playing with the air. As for the head I used a breather filter on suction and for pressure I tapped the inside of the fitting on the headwith a 1/2 or 3/8 NPt. Couldn't find the right fitting for the outside threads. I did that while the compressor was running so no shavings would go in. Here us a pic it's not mine but I copied this one for my install. Gm fullsize has a great thread on the exact install |

Re: 72 Dropmember Suburban
I know how big of a pain it can be to get parts that don't work. But the colors are going to be great when they get you the full size one!

Re: 72 Dropmember Suburban
Yea, I guess I misinterpreted Tim's response when I was asking about these....Im not real happy. Guess I need to chalk it up to a lesson learned. So now I can try and find a blazer seat or have another seat cover made.
One good thing, it only took me three trips to the autoparts store to get the right serpentine belt for the EDC. |

Re: 72 Dropmember Suburban
Don't you have a full size second seat? That looks like it is for the 3/4 second seat.

Re: 72 Dropmember Suburban
I may have a lead on a complete blazer...maybe I can pick that up. If it happens, I will rob the seat from it and have a project to start after this one is done.

Re: 72 Dropmember Suburban
When I get home I can check how wide mine is. I bet if you wanted to try and trade someone that wide seat for a smaller 2nd seat you might have luck with that. Never hurts to ask around. I know If I didn't have my seats all done I would have jumped at the wider seat.

Re: 72 Dropmember Suburban
Still kinda butt hurt about the seat covers, not wanting to buy another cover right now, i decided to cut down one of the old bench seats i have and see what it looked like. The worst I would be out would be an old seat frame.
Got it cut down, welded up, the foam cut and the cover put on. I pushed it to the one side so it would be like having access to get to the back. Im not sure if I like the 3/4 seat in the second row. Anyway, here is how it looks. ![]() |

Re: 72 Dropmember Suburban
I think it looks pretty good, you were busy chopping down the seat and foam and throwing that cover on!
That would of taken most of us a weekend to get it done... hmm, maybe I am taking too many beer breaks.... ![]() |

Re: 72 Dropmember Suburban
Worst case, you can put it in the back as the third row seat.
