Re: 63 C10 SWB Dropmember Build
Thanks! I think I will end up with 20's due to having the tire sizes I want and cost. The old wheels will be moving to the new 90 C1500 project.

Decided to go with this new directional version instead. Same brushed and Titanium finish though. Just want something a little different.

Re: 63 C10 SWB Dropmember Build
How did you give the trim the brushed look (steel wool)?
Looks great Marc

The trim has a sort of clear coat on it, so couldn't brush it like normal. Had to DA it with 400, then brush it with red Scotchbrite from there. That coating on it is tough. I am brushing the radiator, intake tube, overflow.... everything polished will not be brushed. Thanks. Re: 63 C10 SWB Dropmember Build
another way to remove the Anodizing coating from the aluminum moldings is use ezoff oven cleaner.
I used it on my 65 custom cab aluminum pillar moldings. they were all milky looking. I had to spray them , let them sit a lil bit and then steel wool them and re do it a few times to get it all off but it did a good job with all the grooves they have . |

Re: 63 C10 SWB Dropmember Build
I might try that on the other side, but so far the DA process isn't bad. Little time consuming and can't get all the crevices... but still works well. Not perfect, but then again, neither is the truck.

Looks very nice!
You need to satin silver the grille and bumpers now,...

Re: 63 C10 SWB Dropmember Build
Thanks!
I think that would look good, and wish I would have planned this out better when I started the truck. Never thought I would be putting side trim on it. |

Re: 63 C10 SWB Dropmember Build
I just felt mine has too much red and needed something to break it up. Your truck looks good! You going to be at Columbus? Would be great to see it in person finally.

Columbus in July? That could possibly work!...We will need to sort out the A/C before then, but that will be the first thing on my list once that I get it out of storage! I will be contacting you soon about the Vintage Air stuff that I need.
