Re: Project "Jezebel"
UPDATE......
Still blocking....... Shouldnt be long now I hope. The cab, hood, fenders and bed floor are all about done. I'm currently working the doors, the remaining parts are all new so I'm hoping there is minimal bodywork and their blocking will go quickly. I have set a goal to be painting on weekend of the Feb 23rd. Wish me luck! In the meanwhile I have been ordering lots of parts. UPS and FedEx are here almost every day lol. I'll start adding pics of the more interesting parts when the assembly starts. On another note I dropped off my interior at the upholstery shop Saturday. It's going to be all custom vinyl, suede, and ostrich Progress is moving along but I'm very nervous because I have a show in Dayton Beach I plan to make 22-24 March. Then two more in early April. I see lots of late nights in the shop for the next 5 weeks and I will still be working on the truck the night before I leave for the show. If I make it!

Re: Project "Jezebel"
Still blocking but getting closer. So far so good on getting the paint done on 2-23/24 as long as nothing bad does not happen.
Got this in last week. Vintage Air gen IV. I had purchased the older version of VA but decided to move to the electronic version and use the Dakota Digital controller. Dropped off the doors at the upholstery shop so he can make the backer and drill the holes for the fasteners. At this rate I will have an interior before I have paint lol. Here are some pics of a 67 my upholstery guy is working on now. NOT MY TRUCK but looks awesome!

Re: Project "Jezebel"
Still on track for paint this weekend. It's been a long process when you are doing this by yourself. I hope the outcome is a good one
At this point the entire truck, all 20 panels are in final primer and sanded to 320 grit. One more sanding is in order with 600 wet and I will be ready to shoot paint. I plan to start on Saturday morning early, hopefully before the bugs wake up. Here are some pics of where I am and my dust filled shop. I will be painting in my garage because it's much cleaner than the shop. I guess while the paint is drying I will be doing some shop cleaning.

Re: Project "Jezebel"
Congrats on getting so far along on your bodywork Steve! Question for ya, did you already set your gaps on your doors? Did you drill the hinges for pins? I'm in the process of trying to set my gaps and it's a real pain, I was thinking I may want to just leave them on once I'm happy with the gaps. But that will make it hard to get them fully painted.
Keep up all the hard work, I know how much time you have in it by yourself. |

Thanks, take a look at post 244, it shows where I set the gaps. After figuring out that nothing I did made them fit the way I wanted I actually formed the edges of the doors with a flap wheel to get good gaps. Of course in some places you will have to weld the skin back to the door where you have to be more aggressive and it splits but it will be worth it in the end. FYI the doors never fit right on this from the beginning. Add that I replaced the Dr door with aftermarket and it really sucked. I don't have pics I don't think but I did drill a .125 hole in the hinges so I can set the door back into the same spot. You are right it is a pain but you get better at it after you set the doors for the 50th time. Steve

Re: Project "Jezebel"
Jezebel has a new dress!
Painted the cab and bed floor in the shop and everything else in the garage where I added quite a few lights to convert it to a paint booth. 38 lights total! I'm sure the power company liked me this weekend.

Re: Project "Jezebel"
I'm late to the party, but I'm just in time for the good stuff. Paint looks great. I must say you do some awesome work. I can't wait to see it together, but probably not as much as you.
