I did relist the truck on ebay (again) Not having A/C is proving to be Quite the deal killer. I Though Iv had a few deals made but each one has fell through at the last. Iv even offered to install a Vintage air unit. either one that they buy or ill buy it if i can get what I need for the truck. The next truck will have A/c.

I know im asking a lot of money for it. and I know the economy is crap. but I am willing to negotiate. heres a link to the auction take a look and tell me what you guys think. am I missing something or is it just to much money. be honest you wont offend me.

In my opinion you aren't asking too much. I know how much time and effort goes into one of these trucks. Not to mention how much cash it takes to fund one. You just need to find the right buyer.
As far as the air goes, it's mandetory here in Oklahoma. We just had 40 straight days of 100 plus temps. Keep that in mind, most of the country has been in a heat wave. With that said, you can spend another $1200+ for vintage air and tack it to the price like you said.
Good luck with the sale

Did you make it out to the show? Im glad I went, and didnt listen to the weather people, it was a beautiful day up until later in the evening.

I got a great reception out there. Everybody i talked to loved it. thought i had a few good buyers really interested, but I still drove it home. I parked between two other guys selling the C/10s both very nice trucks. the 67 was 13,500 and the 71 was 12,500 and here I am in the middle asking double. It was cool though I could show people the diffrence between mine and theirs.

oh I also found out the mileage on the highway. its almost 21mpg

Re: Silver Dollar

I don't think you're out of line at all either. People just want to steal stuff right now and use the "bad economy" in their favor to try and weasel people into coming down to their price. Hang in there. A correct buyer will come through soon enough.

Re: Silver Dollar

I wish this truck was available before I built my truck. It would have saved me a lot of work. I think the price is fair considering what's in it.

I couldn't make it Saturday and was planning on going Sunday. Since it rained until early afternoon i ended up scratching the whole thing. Sorry to hear you didnt find a buyer yet. Anymore big shows coming to the area? I haven't been able to get to one all season.

I cant think of any, of the top of my head. sorry u missed it. its almost aways a good show. I thought it was a little light on the swap meet stuff. that seams to be a trend with swap meets anymore, I wonder why.

Re: Silver Dollar

Dont think I showed you guys this. while under the truck a few days ago changing the oil and filter, I was reminded of something that I forgot about, and dont think you all have seen. when I thought I was finished with the build, me and the wife and kids all slid up under the truck and signed it. on a patch that I left unpainted on the core support. kinda like writing your name in concrete.

Re: Silver Dollar

hey guys I'm gonna relist my truck on ebay in the next few days and was wondering if you all could help me?
Im doing a little market research. This will be the fourth time iv listed it. I think the first time was information overload and the last one won was short on info. I have to find a balance between the two. My question is: the main photo is the attention getting photo to make someone click and look at your auction. which one of these photos would most likely get you excited and make you want to view the auction. if you were in the market.

1.

2.

3.

4.

5.

6.

Re: Silver Dollar

I am into photography and I pay attention to a lot of the details in various photos, generally trying to get ideas about what makes a good picture, etc. All of your pictures are nice, I really lighting effects in #2 and I like the lines and details of #3. Problem is they are too "busy" for what you want. Of the remaining pictures, I'm going with 67cheby and my choice would be #6. Good Luck!

Re: Silver Dollar

1 or 6 Don't worry about having to relist. Just keep getting exposure and be patient. I built a 66 Cutlass convertible that was a really nice car. I was told over and over a plain Cutlass will never bring more than high teens buy guys in the know in the Oldsmobile world. It took 6 months but I did sell it to a guy in CA for 28,500.00 and that was at the first of 2010 when things where just as crappy as they are now. You only have one truck so you only need 1 buyer.

PS the A/C deal lost a lot of sales on mine. I have learned that lesson too.

Re: Silver Dollar

I would choose #6 as well. Try listing it in the Orange County, CA section of Craigslist. People are still spending out this way.

Re: Silver Dollar

I would have to agree. Iv always like the color and lighting in number 6. iv tried several times to reproduce that color in different locations and haven't been able to thus far. the paint makes this thing really change depending on the lighting conditions, as you can see in the photos. I was also wondering if you all thought it would be wise to have that picture photoshopped with a different back ground behind it. The idea of that first picture is to draw attention to your auction.

Thanks for your input guys it really is helpful

I wouldn't photoshop it any. People might think other things besides the background were photoshoped.
I think the stance/background etc... are good to go in #6. If I were looking for one, it'd grab my attention just fine. My .02.
